Front Desk Doesn’t Answer the Phone We recently reserved a block of rooms in this hotel for a wedding. Several of our guests complained that the front desk either didn’t answer the phone or put them on hold for so long that they gave up. The only way to reserve rooms in a block is to call the hotel directly. Later I was talking with someone who had blocked rooms for a wedding at a different time. They had the same problem.

Worst hotel I’ve EVER stayed at in my life!!! We drove all the way from Georgia to Michigan to spend Christmas with my Mother who I hadn’t seen in 13 months! The drive took about 14 hours, so when we got to the hotel we were exhausted from the long drive. I checked into this hotel on 12/22/2022 at approximately 3:30 pm. Upon entering the hotel, I noticed a foul and musty odor in the lobby. It was at that point I immediately knew I was going to regret making this reservation. When I checked in, the lady at the desk, Kris, asked me to swipe my card to put a hold on my card for the hotel cost of $535.50. In a separate transaction, she entered my card number manually to cover the pet fee of $80.00 ($20.00/night). This was after I had questioned the fee that was quoted on their website, which read $15.00. She and another fella, who wasn’t even ASKED to contribute to this personal conversation, yelled that the fee had NEVER been $15.00 since it opened! That was the second strike…false advertising and arguing with the customer instead of asking me for a copy of what I saw and honoring it! When she entered my card manually, it was denied. More than likely this was due to a keying error she made because she was too busy making googly eyes with the gentleman who took it upon himself to contribute to our private conversation about the pet fee cost. I knew I had enough credit to cover the fee so I told her I didn’t know why it was denied. She told me she would take care of it later. Something told me not to trust it, but I wasn’t worried because I knew there was more than enough on the card to cover the $80.00….that would ALL soon change. When we got to our room, it smelled musty and there was thick dust laying on top of our headboards (see pics). Thank God I travel with Lysol wipes!! I had to wipe down the entire room before unpacking!! There were also pubic hairs on the bathtub wall. This place is NASTY and DISGRACEFUL!! We discovered that the 24 hour security door which leads from outside of the hotel to the inside of the hotel was busted (see pics)! They had shut off the both exit doors near us as well as the stairwell that led from the 2nd floor to this door! They decided to cover up the door with a piece of wood, tape and plastic! Our room was located maybe 5 feet from this busted door! We could have been robbed and/or mugged by strangers on the property due to their lack of security! No one even bothered to ask us if we wanted to move to a more secure room in the hotel. Not to mention the potential fire hazard that was presented by blocking off this exit!! This action put our lives at risk in the event an actual fire had broken out! We would have had to walk all the way to the other end of the hotel to get out of it!! That first night, I received a text alert from my credit card company notifying me that Comfort Inn was attempting to charge my credit card for 2 separate amounts, each over $100.00!!! The pet fee was $80, so I didn’t understand what they were trying to do! I reported the charges as fraud immediately because I didn’t know why they were doing this because I had already paid them.m for the room! The charges were denied and my card was frozen until I could resolve the issue with the hotel! The next morning I went to find out why they were continuously entering my card number for various amounts without my consent. I was told some mess about the lady didn’t complete my original transaction correctly when I originally checked in so I needed to pay for the room AGAIN! I told her that I was not going to pay for the room again and that they need to fix whatever she messed up! I also advised them to train their employees better to prevent this from happening with other future customers! For the next 3 nights of our stay, the hotel continued to enter my card information in their database EVERY SINGLE NIGHT charging random and unexplained amounts! They did not contact me ONCE to tell me why they were doing this! As a result, they ended up causing my credit card to nearly max out!! Because of their incompetency and fraudulent actions, I could not use my credit card for my entire trip because they had a hold on on my card for over $1,000.00 in hotel fees that I did not authorize! Because of their incompetency, lack of valuable customer service and proper business ethics, I could not afford to buy Christmas presents for my Mother or dine out with my family due to many holds that were placed by the hotel on my credit card!!! I had to borrow money from relatives just to eat and gas up my vehicle! If our truck had broken down or we had needed to use the card for a traveling emergency, we would have been s$@t out of luck simply because of their unethical practices! 10 days had passed and we were back in Georgia and this had still not been corrected!! There was still a hold on my credit card for over $1000.00 and I am still unable to use my card! I spoke to the manager, Ankita Patel, and she agreed to talk to my creditor to get this issue resolved. Before I could even get the credit card representative on the phone, Ankita had hung up the line! I will NEVER stay in this dump again and I will DEFINITELY be reaching out to their CEO, their District Manager and their corporate office this week about my awful experience. I will also take it upon myself to share my experience in various social networks to warn people about how unethical this hotel can be! This was the worst Christmas I’ve ever had…thanks to Comfort Inn Suites, Choice Hotels in Fenton, Michigan!

Don't trust the reservation clerk - Never again. Called to hold 5 rooms in case they were needed for a Saturday night. The clerk said she could do that until 4pm that Saturday and just needed a credit card in case someone called by then to use a room otherwise after 4pm the hold expires and room releases. No one used a room, no one contacted us at all. The credit card was charged for 5 rooms that were not used for over $1,000! When Comfort Inn was contacted they said they tried to contact, but said they received a voicemail saying "voicemail was not set up". Obviously someone trying to cover up their mistake, since this voicemail has been setup for over 10 years. Contact shouldn't have made a difference if the agreement was the rooms would release if no one use by 4pm and card not charged. Thank goodness we have a great credit card company. With all the other hotels in the area, we will NEVER send our or our friends' business again.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Food poisoning from breakfast!! RESERVED a double bed room a month in advance for mother, daughter and myself and upon arrival was told there were no double bed rooms available so was put in a room with one king bed, then next morning ate questionable breakfast and became violently ill hours later during the wedding I was in town for. I got Food Poisoning from the breakfast which caused internal bleeding resulting in a hospital stay for the following week. Absolute worst hotel stay I have ever had and upon checkout as I told the clerk about the incident all I was offered were a pack of cookies. DO NOT EAT THE FOOD HERE! Will never stay here again, only reason I stayed there in first place was because Fairfield Inn down the road was booked full.

Sofa couch only sleeps 1 I booked this for my family of two adults and four kids ages 8-14. We booked a room with 2 queens and a pullout couch which we were told would accommodate us. They were wrong ... the pullout couch sleeps 1 so we had to have 3 people in one queen with 2 in the other and 1 in the pullout. We’ll never come back ... Also, when I asked for more towels, the guy at the front said he needed to keep some for housekeeping so couldn’t give me all we needed. Finally, we had to put the coffee table in the hallway because with the couch pulled out, we couldn’t move in the room. Sorry did this review being a little scattered, but I’m feeling a little scatter-brained after staying here.
