Do not go to this “resort”….. Do not go to this resort!!! Walls are very thin- could hear guests on either side of our room the whole night. They tried to charge us $60 over the quoted cost when we checked in. Bathtub did not drain. Shower cuts off mid shower (heard others with the same complaint speaking at the counter). Hot tub in spa not working- told us to go to the hotel hot tub. When we went to the hotel hot tub the next day- we were told it was not working. However- the spa one was working again- we would just have to pay $50 per person to use it (even though it was not working when we had paid to use it). They offer room service to the spa- but when you call- no one there. I left a message but they never called back. Had to call back later. It seems like nothing is working in this resort- and when brought to management’s attention- they just said they would discuss it with their staff. It is not worth the money. Do not go to this resort. If you are looking for a relaxing experience- skip the Abbey!!!

If you want to enjoy yourself Stay Away We live local but needed a place to stay for a few nites due to home being renovated. I physically went into The Abbey as I live 1 mile away to book 2 connecting rooms for 2 nites. It’s off season Hotel was very empty but the front desk had difficulty guarantee ing adjoining rooms. My father is disabled and wheelchair bound. I needed a Handicapped accessible room adjoining to any other type of room. I had to pay $50 extra per room to gurnatee adjoining rooms. Upon arrival we were in building 2 there was NO easy why to get to the room with a handicapped person. The hotel is barely complaint with ADA regulations and they charge you extra to keep your handicap family member safe by having adjoining rooms. Moving on from that issue each night a different restaurant in the hotel is open probably given it’s off season. We had kids with us and it was one kid’s birthday our plan was to order pizza to celebrate. FYI you CANNOT eat anywhere in The Abbey besides your hotel room with outside food. I asked if any restaurants at The Abbey have pizza? The answer is NO! I asked if I could pay extra to eat the food in a common area The answer is NO! I asked if I could rent the tables inbetween the pool and the game room to eat The pizza in and the answer was No! So we ate the pizza squished in our room celebrating a birthday. I than asked the front desk what restaurant is open and I was advised The Water Front when I looked online to book a table it was not open but closed until the weekend. I than was directed to room service that advised me it was The restaurant 240 but they had The Waterfronts menu. We went to 240 and it was not The Waterfronts menu it was the higher end menu which is fine but NO one seems to now what’s going on. We did eat at 240 for breakfast and dinner and the food was only aduaquat and that’s putting nicely. I easily spent $1500 for 2 nights off season for 2 rooms plus the game room and meals and I live 1 mile down the street. The pool was pretty much empty The game room empty and barely anyone in the restaurants . Everyone was friendly The servers were great. We made the best of the situation but definitely will not be back for any type of stay cation. Also don’t forget all the signs in The pool are And game room areas warning people NOT to have fun…NO Outside Food No Drinks No music playing pretty much No fun!

Birthday celebration It started out wonderful and ended perfectly. Eric made sure to feel we were welcome and checked to see everything was fine. he was so kind and helpful in every way. He is an asset to the Abbey and when a friend asked where to go for a spa experience I said don’t even think of going anywhere else so word of mouth is the best advertising she thus made a reservation for her and her daughter the day after Easter and made 3 spa appointments . I am also coming back this Sunday and Monday.

Never again!! The Abbey will never see another penny of mine!! We have been coming to the Abbey for many years for our girls trips. We booked the Spa package . As we entered the Avani spa we were told there is no hot water and the whirlpool is is out of order, while disappointed we dealt with it. This is a health hazard as the masseuse could not properly clean hand in between clients. Once we were able to check in ( additional fee to check in early now) even though it is mid week and the hotel was not full! Once we got to our room , we were ready to take showers since the spa showers were not working. To our dismay, the hotel room had no hot water either!!! We tried to call the front desk and the room phone didn’t work!! The hotel only wants communication through text now. We finally got the front desk who swore they had no idea the whole building had no hot water!!! So we had to change rooms…. The property seems to be falling apart as I saw men knocking on guest room doors to repair things in addition to the workers trying to repair the boiler in the spa and building 7!, when we checked out we reminded them of our issues and again the clerk said they had no idea what was happening!! How can this be true??? We asked for some compensation and they took off the resort fee25.00 of a 500.00 package!!!! This is Easter week, I’m sure the hotel will be packed and the guests are in for a rude awakening!.

Couples Anniversary Weekend Hotel rooms were very clean and updated. Loved the high ceilings making the room feel large. The grounds were very nice and I’m sure in peak season it’s a busy place! Enjoyed the indoor hot tub and pool, which felt very clean as well. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.
