TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Horrible hotel! I guess I should feel grateful that they would not let me stay because of a medical condition - and then refused my refund!!!! They're thieves! I wouldn't stay here EVER! Save yourself some grief and sleep in your car!

Not the New York Plaza The 1 I gave the hotel was because we had a roof over our head. We arrived at the hotel and they wanted a $200 deposit. The Hilton, The Marriott and other top chain hotels don’t ask for a deposit that high. We go to our room. Our room is right next to the back door. The back door where the lock is broken and people including homeless people are constantly hanging out. Homeless people are in and out roaming the hotel. Once inside the room, the room has two latch locks plus a deadbolt. Should I think they are keeping me safe or wonder what are the keeping me safe from? Next your eyes go to the curtains where it looks like the curtains have been shot up because the back of them are peeling. My husband and I pull out our Lysol wipes to wipe down the room. We are in a handicapped room, so the bathroom has bars next to the toilet and in the shower. The Lysol towels were so black I don’t believe they have ever been cleaned let alone wiped. The chairs in the room are pleather covered, and the Lysol towels were not as black but they were dirty. The headboard was totally filthy. You can tell this hotel tried to remodel. The wood shelf was falling off the wall. The fire faucets on the ceiling were still wrapped with plastic from painting. The bedside table was peeling. Some black bugs kept coming from the Air-conditioner. I verified they were not bed bugs. The sheets had cigarette burns. Then what really was the issue was, in the bathroom we had two big towels and one washcloth. The next day the made comes by and says she has one facecloth per room. They had no towels. Later that day we were out and housekeeping was gone when we got back. We did not get towels until 9 am the next morning after calling 3 times. And of course we could not get anymore while we were there. And please don’t expect yo get and ironing board or iron. If you are desperate to not be homeless this is your expensive shelter to stay at.

I was supposed to stay for 2 nights after going back and forth with the company to give me another hotel I will pay the difference, They refused I was tired so I stayed only one night and cancel. The lights very dim outside of the hotel. Strange people hanging outside of the hotel, bathroom tub not clean. Hotel staff on night shift vey rude, no eye contact when talking to you.

THE LAST STRAW I usually frequented this hotel in the past because of its convenience in terms of location and room rates buttt after my unexpected missed flight back home in May 2021, it was then I knew that it would be the last time that I ever step foot back into Plaza Hotel. The rooms are a literal disgrace and for a $200 deposit being held in addition to your credit card being charged for the full stay- DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!!!! Normally I'm not one to loathe my stay at any hotel publicly on TripAdvisor but I could NOT let this one pass. The front desk staff was not pleasant. The rooms were filthy! Bed sheets were visibly stained, I had an obvious sink on the right side of the bed, bathroom toilet did not flush in addition to the light barely turning on. What really made me come to the decision that I will no longer spend my money with Plaza Hotel, I sat in the parking lot of the hotel and watched a lady throw up twice in the front lobby. TWICE!!!! Nothing was done, no housekeeping or groundman came to clean up. I immediately packed my bags and left to go to another hotel where I was pleasantly welcomed, room was cleaned and I was able to take a hot shower and lay my head on clean white sheets, rolling from side to side without having to worry about falling in a sinkhole. I did not care how much another hotel would have costed me, I was willing to pay top dollar after my 5hr experience at Plaza Hotel. If you're considering staying at this property, do yourself and mines the favor, DON'T!
