NOT the Residence Inn you would expect from a Marriott Hotel This place is horrible we ended up not even staying. I checked us into the room and before I brought my stuff in I went to check out the room. The desk chair not longer had a cover on it and had peeled off. The coach had stains all over it and the carpet was just disgusting with stains and chunks of stuff everywhere. There was dirt on the closet door and behind the bathroom door I think they forgot to clean. The kitchen was dingy and I would never use those appliances. I spoke to front desk and had them come check out the room and they said they could find me another room. My kids and I decided we did not want that and wanted to check out. I went to the front desk to let them know we wanted our money back and we were checking out. That is when I was told that it is a dog friendly hotel and that is why it is like that and they are on the list of being remodeled. The gentleman tried to be nice after he tried to tell me I did not mention I had dogs at check in. I then told him I certainly did tell the hotel about my dogs when I called that morning and I showed him my phone where I called their hotel. He apologized and then really tried to help me. Additionally by the side door area they were keeping an old inside chair as a place to store their junk. We left and went to the Best Western in Fort Smith much better for the dogs. Do not stay here if you value cleanliness.

Improvement needs to happen This hotel is falling behind the times. The facility is in OK shape, but there are some things within the rooms that are deteriorating or do not look good. For example, the desk chair has fallen apart (see picture) and the appliances in the kitchen have turned yellow or are out-dated (see picture). Also, the amenities are very poor. Even though there is a pool, which is nice, the hot tub is covered up and it was August. The gym only has cardio equipment, no weights or extra room for workout. The two stars was for the pool and breakfast provided.

Exceptional Service and Caring Staff Words can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for the staff at this location. My husband and I were in a motorcycle wreck on the freeway and we needed a place to stay for a couple nights since he had a broken foot, torn tendons, on crutches and couldn’t physically ride back to Dallas. The staff knew about this and brought ice packs to our room, asked how he and I were doing each time we saw them which doesn’t sound like much but given what we had gone through it really meant a lot. They were kind and attentive from the front desk, housekeeping and housekeeping manager. In walking distance to good restaurants, and mercy hospital. Great location.

Awful This is by far the worst Residence Inn I have ever stayed at. It smelled musty, the covering was peeling off the desk chair and the "breakfast" was a joke. They give you a cold breakfast sandwich and expect you to heat it up in your rooms microwave. No drinks except for a small prepackaged orange juice. The desk clerk even apologized for the meal. If this place was representative of all Residence Inns I'd never book with them again. Fortunately I've stayed at other ones that were very nice so obviously this one is the exception.
