Nice stay in Fredericksburg area As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I enjoy staying at different properties within the company portfolio. A visit to Fredericksburg by train brought me to this HGI. It is situated in a commercial area, on a campus with 2 other Hilton-owned hotels (Homewood and Hampton). Dining options are close by, within a 10 minute walk. Check-in was done the day before arrival via the app, as was room selection. All I had to do was show up and go directly to my room. My room had plenty of space to spread out. Bathroom had ample counter space. No hot water issues. Wifi, TV, and climate control worked well. Sleep quality was good. No traffic noise from nearby highway. Did not partake of any meals onsite.

Not a great place to stay To start we have stayed here multiple times in the last 15 years we have family in the area. Was always a great place to stay. I now do not feel that way and would say avoid this place…we will not be staying here again. Check in was somewhat quick. I was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed as a diamond member (seems since I became lifetime diamond the hotels never welcome me as a diamond member). However, I booked points and pay….they added a 75.00 per night “ hold” on the room and the person could not explain why. They also made me swipe my credit card even though I had booked WITH a credit card. I know what the “hold” was but they could explain why. Room is nice and spacious and the beds are insanely comfortable. The dresser (not sure you could call it that) only had one shelf 4 inches from the top and no other shelves. Odd for sure and vey low to the ground. Bathroom is another story. They only refresh the room every other night…two people and only 3 towels. Math does not add up..toilet rocks and you have to flush at least twice. The walls in the shower … one was cracked and the other looks like it was cracked and patched by a two year old…the shower curtain slides down at least 12-18 inches. This is one of the reasons I give 2 stars. The main reason….the horribly overpriced breakfast buffet…20.00 a person…eggs were luke warm, the sausage links looked like the frozen brown and serve ones u get at Wal-Mart. Potatoes okay. Coffee…lukewarm at best and the coffee holders were stained and nasty. No decaf either. There was one guy (with a Hilton Hampton shirt on) handling breakfast. It was the worst experience I have ever had here. And to top it off, as a Diamond member, I am supposed to get a 15.00 a day food and beverage credit. I got my bill this morning and no such credit anywhere. I have not talked to the front desk yet but will when we check out.

Our Disappointment in our stay Was very disappointed in our one night stay at the Fredericksburg Hilton Garden Inn. We booked through Priceline. We booked here because we had been traveling a long distance and wanted a restaurant/bar on-site (we did not want to go back out and travel to a restaurant off-site. We understood that the bar did not open until 5. We arrived at 4:30 to check-in. Went to our room to get settled. We went down to go to the bar and were told that the person running the bar/restaurant never showed up. There was a sign in the lobby that clearly stated the bar/restaurant was open 5-10pm. See attached picture (Strike 1) After getting in our car and traveling to an offsite restaurant, we went back to our room. We were on the 4th floor and went to get ice from the machine just down the hall (how convenient). Machine was not working. Went down to 3rd floor, machine was not working. Went down to the 2nd floor - finally found a working ice machine. (Strike 2) Went down for breakfast the next morning. First WHAT HILTON DOES NOT PROVIDE A CONTENENTAL BREAKFAST! We were informed that we were going to be charged for coffee, juice a yogurt and some fruit! WHAT???? Upon getting up from our table, the employee in the breakfast area accused us of leaving without paying! (Strike 3 & 4) . We just wanted to talk to the person at the desk for clarification. We ended up paying for our breakfast and left. Extremely disappointed in our stay, the service and the facility. Thank you for your attention and hopefully other customers will have a better experience based on my feedback. Denise dctraining4u@gmail.com

YIKES! Oh. My. I don’t know where to start. After calling several places in the area and unsuccessfully finding accommodations we called here. The staff was nice. That’s probably the reason for at least one star. We should have read these reviews but we needed a place to rest on our road trip… if only we could have actually rested. As another review stated, this is not what was expected with a Hilton name. Old room, a brick of a bed, paper thin pillows, even thinner toilet paper, AC that decided on its own when to work (not AI, just old), a bathroom fan that sounded like it was going to combust… the list goes on. Oh let’s not forget the neat bathroom feature of exfoliating towels considering 180grit sandpaper would have been softer. Good lord I think we would have been better sleeping in the car. Definitely going to be watching CC statement as they charge at least a $75 incidental fee they say is refunded after your stay but after reading some of the nightmare reviews here that will need to be confirmed. Ugh. Disappointing stay to say the least. Good luck!

General manager makes poor decisions concerning diamond guests The general manager was very disrespectful. I am a lifetime diamond member with 1500 paid nights. I got booked through Priceline by mistake . When I asked for respectful diamond service the GM of the hotel said she would not recognize this or any and all diamond privleges at all. I knew all the policies about 3rd party bookings but the supervisor at the diamond desk told me it was 100% the decision of the GM and that most GMs would extend all privileges for a lifetime diamond member, but her attitude amazed me. She was abrasive and rude. It was a stain on the Hilton brand.
