Mary is a rockstar, awesome hotel Upon walking into the hotel lobby, Mary acknowledged me and kindly greeted me. She was very friendly and got me checked in within moments. I had several questions about the hotel and the area and she was extremely thorough in answering all of my questions. I felt very welcomed during my entire stay. Mary's customer service and kindness didn't end at the check-in as she would acknowledge everybody coming in and out of the lobby. The hotel itself had great vibes and was clean and quiet. When I am in this area, I will definitely be staying here. I highly recommend this hotel and commend the management at Renaissance for keeping the place staffed with amazing people like Mary.

Out dated and dirty They were upgrading their billing system. I am still waiting for a receipt to be emailed. They didn’t put in my Marriott rewards account. My fridge did not work, it had mold growing in it. The ice machine was located on the 3rd floor, so you had to take the hot elevator up to the he 3rd floor to get ice. The bar and dining was closed and they did not advertise that. I had a dirty pink plastic spoon left from the previous guest in the bathroom under the sink. The entry way was leaking and they had trash cans collecting the water. The carpets were dirty, trash laying around. Not impressed. The people at the front desk were friendly, that is the only reason they get a 2. Overall, not impressed. Hoping I get to turn in my travel reimbursement, but can’t until they send my invoice.

Getting what you pay for I have to admit that I was attracted to the $110 per night weekend rate for a Senior on the Marriott's website and the designation they had for a "new property", so I kept telling myself I deserved what I received. When I arrived, I realized that I had seen this property several years ago, but it had a different name previously. The exterior of the property is very appealing other than the trash in the parking lot and around the entrance. Thankfully they didn't put me on the highway side of the hotel, the opposite side didn't have any road noise on the 5th level. The front desk personnel were all friendly and personable, BUT the room, oh the room - the carpet had seams that were starting to separate, the HVAC was loud enough to make me think were on a taxiway at the airport AND the sheets seemed to be older than the Senior Rate that I qualified for. I didn't eat or drink there, so I can't speak to that at all. However, there are many choices of food and beverages within 2-3 miles of the property. Can't tell you how much better that I slept when I got home to decent bedding and a quiet HVAC, slept 3 hours per night more than I did in the hotel.

Disappointing I thought Renaissance properties were supposedly higher end than basic Marriott properties. Not this one. We were disappointed following our recent stay at this property. In fairness, the property is short-staffed because of the pandemic. Nevertheless, there are issues we had during our stay that could have been easily fixed. The hotel requires guests to wear masks in public areas (not enforced), which I understand and don't have a problem with. However, rooms are cleaned only if you stay 5 nights or more. We stayed for fewer than 5 nights, so there was no maid service. We had to track down folks in housekeeping or the front desk (phoning the front desk was not successful as no one answered after a few minutes) to get clean towels. Not sure why not cleaning the room is a good strategy here. Doesn't the science tell us that COVID doesn't remain on surfaces? And if no one is in the room during the cleaning, other than the housekeeping staff, is there really a risk of contracting COVID? Just don't get it! We also had a problem with the rubber molding on the bottom of our door to the room. It was hanging by a thread at the bottom of the door. We had a maintenance guy come to the room, and he said he needed a helper to fix the problem as the door was too heavy for one person to remove it. He said it would be fixed Monday. Well, it wasn't fixed on Monday. Our room had tired and worn carpets. It just didn't feel clean. There were smudges on the windows-- like someone had pressed their nose onto the glass. How much trouble or time would it take to spray the glass with Windex? At checkout I spoke to one of the managers and mentioned these issues to him. He was gracious and courteous, and said he appreciated the feedback and would take care of the problems. Would I stay at this property again? Probably not. I've stayed at cleaner properties for a lower price. I give it an Average rating.
