Good location for GRR Airport The location is definitely a plus if you're flying in and out of Grand Rapids Airport. It's literally right down the street with lots of good restaurants nearby. Try Leo's Coney Island and Buddy's Pizza if you're visiting from out of town. The room was pretty clean as well - bed comfortable -

Not Family Friendly I booked this hotel because they offered a Park/Stay and Fly rate. Upon entering the parking lot I had hesitations, but decided to give this place a shot since it was 8:30 pm and we had a 6:00 am flight and had drove 3 hrs. The front desk clerk checked us in and gave us an option of a room. The lobby seemed decent and clean. I checked in and went back to park my car. As we drove around the parking lot, there were many construction workers lingering in the parking lot drinking beer. We entered through the side door and the hallway was saturated with marijuana smoke. We went to the third floor. We were five a double queen suite with kitchen and then it was apparent that this was a long stay hotel. The rooms appeared old, but some things were updated like the bathroom counter, kitchen cabinets, etc. The room smelled of cooking oil and just dirty. The beds and bathroom were clean. We did not have restful night stay because the vent just kept turning on and off and was loud. The beds were very uncomfortable. We had no trouble catching the shuttle but the attendant at the desk seemed like she couldn’t care less about our stay. I pray our vehicle is ok once we return from our trip. IHG definitely needs to look into this property and the activity taking place. I am just glad my husband was with me because I wouldn’t have stayed there alone with my daughter. The hotel is in a nice part of town but in definite need of some help!

Get a new GM or retrain her to provide customer service. Remind her this is a hotel not United Airlines. This should have been a 5 star review however, thanks to Dawn the General Manager this is a 1 star review. Day 1 Let’s start off by saying the staff minus Dawn, was amazing! We checked in to room 115 however it smelled like there was a dead animal in the walls so the front desk happily switched us to room 136. No harm no foul. We get settled in then I go outside to the grills on site to cook up food we brought. The grills are completely destroyed inside, they need new burners and gas lines as they have huge holes in them. I lit grill 1 but the flame was so small I knew I was in trouble. After 15 minutes the temperature rose to 120. I went to the second grill, upon inspection this grill was in even worse condition than the other one, plus it didn’t have propane so I swapped the tank over. Couldn’t even get it to light. So pan fried steaks it was! Day 2 After doing adventures around the city we came back to our room 136 to find my suit case soaked. The ceiling had been leaking all day. Called the front desk, they had maintenance down there in about 10 minutes. He came in prepared with a new ceiling tile a ladder and a screw driver. The old tile crumbled to pieces all over the floor. While he did pick up the large pieces the rest of the mess was just left on the floor for us to pick up. He didn’t fix the leak. Upon check out day 3 We woke up this morning to the new tile entirely drenched in water. 100% ruined. Soaked through. My future wife went to the front desk to be told they would do nothing for us. The fact that we are PLATINUM members shouldn’t be a factor here because they should have returned anyone’s money or points or AT THE LEAST offered a discount on another stay but Dawn said absolutely not. I’d say you should probably teach her the values of customer service. Especially to multi-return guest. Dawn. You earned this 1 star. Congratulations. Bright sides of the hotel. They let crack heads who aren’t staying there bring their kids to play on the volley ball court and loiter in the parking lot while they sit in their cars chain smoking. They have basketball courts. I enjoyed playing some basketball. The one rim is destroyed and the net is shredded but still playable. They have a lending center up front. The beds are comfy. The staff minus Dawn are amazing.

Thoughtless room location I stayed at this hotel the night of May 9th, when I suddenly had to layover in GR due to a flight cancellation. The location is so-so, it is definitely a "class 2" property. It wasn't busy at all. I was given Room 304 which, as it turned out, was across from a facility of some kind that had a recording telling people they were trespassing, there were surveillance cameras, they had been filmed, and to leave. That seemed to get repeated every time a car drove by until around 1:00 a.m. when I finally fell asleep. My gripe is that OBVIOUSLY the staff is well aware of this problem and EQUALLY OBVIOUSLY in a hotel with very few rooms taken, I could have been placed on the side of the hotel facing away from the street and this property and not heard anything.

Terrible service We requested a 500am shuttle to the airport and came down that morning to catch it. The shuttle didnt come. There was no staff at the front desk. We repeatedly rang the desk bell. No answer. I called the hotel phone number 3 times. No answer. We tried to get an uber. No cars available. We tried to get a taxi, 45 minutes to an hour. We were totally left out to dry and no one around to help us. I called the hotel when we got home and told them what happened to us and to get my nights applied to my IHG account. The agent promised to look into it and call me back. Never received a call back. Very unprofessional. Very unreliable. We chose this place for the shuttle and were unapologetically burned.
