Very nice stay We stopped in to get a room while in the Greenwood area. The desk clerk, forgot his name, was super nice and gave us a good deal on a king suite. We had a comfy bed and a very clean room. The breakfast was good but at 8:30 there was almost no eggs or sausage and no one came back to refill. However we ate other things for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and will return here if in this area again.

Looks are very deceiving I should have done more looking into reviews. I try to be loyal to the Choice brand and this seemed to be ok based on what I saw on the website. I know better - I travel for a living and I didn't take the time to check the non-biased reviews on here. The outside of the hotel looked very presentable as well as the lobby. Front desk staff were very friendly. There was a younger lady who was being trained on her first day and was doing great. As another reviewer said - that's where the nice ended. The elevator had a funky smell to it and I knew I was in trouble. I got off the elevator on the second floor and was hit with a nasty smell. My second observation was the hallway carpet was absolutely nasty. Then I got into my room... The room smelled kind of iffy. The refrigerator was sitting noticeably off balanced. When I checked that out I discovered there was a pile of water on the inside bottom that leaked all over the floor. I got a towel to soak it up and left it there. The bathroom plug wouldn't keep my steamer plugged in. Both outlets were too loose and the cord just fell out. The curtain rod was barely hanging on to the wall and was drooping bad. I expected the slightest tug to rip it out of the wall. The tub fixtures were the best the 1980's had to offer. Whoever does their "maintenance" obviously takes no pride in their work. Outlets had paint on them, moulding had paint on it. The couch looked old and dirty. The carpet in the room was in bad need of replacing - it was dirty and tattered. Found multiple pieces of plastic where somebody must have bought a new shirt or socks or something and the plastic thing that holds the tags on were embedded in the carpet. I was scheduled to be here two night so I figured I could live with it. I had a last minute change of plans and had to leave after the first night which was a relief. My overall reaction to this property is simple: it is obvious the owner takes no pride in how his hotel looks/smells as long as people keep spending their money there. If I was corporate I would shut it down soon and order a complete gutting and remodel.

Needs some work The lobby is nice in appearance, but it ends there. The aroma thoughout the lobby and hallways was offensive but at least it did not permeate into in our room. The whole place shows signs of ageing and deferred maintenance making one wonder if it is on the "to be demolished" list. Someone needs to go through the place with a wrench and screwdriver to lighten doorknobs, shower heads, lavatory fixtures, etc. Water pressure in the shower is deficient even in low usage times of day but especially a problem in morning hours. Breakfast was the standard budget motel fare. Eating area was kept orderly and cleaned up. Overflowing trash containers at the front entrance were not remedied during our two day stay. Along with the green pool and surrounding trash and dirt on the pool deck, the impression was that they have given up or don't care. Beds were comfortable enough and the AC was quiet. Towels were large and good quality, Housekeeping did a very good job especially with what they are working with. I have nothing against condoms but having them in a vending machine with snack items is a bit strange.

Very Disappointing I guess we should have realized from what we seen at the front entrance that this was not the place to stay....garbage and recyclables were overflowing at the waste receptacles. Upon checking it was obvious that the hotel was not overly busy and we were given our choice of an upper level room or a ground floor one...we chose the ground floor one which we found out later in the night was a mistake as it (room 119) was right next to an "Electrical Room" which had a very loud "hummm" which cycled on and off repeatedly. On the other side of us was an elderly gentleman who was obviously using his TV all night to drown out the "Hummm" which was loud enough to permiate both our room and his. My point here being that there is very little noise insulation and this hotel depending on your room location can be very noisy. In a period of low occupancy why on earth put someone in that location. The microwave had an error message on the screen so we can only imagine that it was not functioning especially given the fact that upon check in the front desk clerk was already trying to source a new one for another guest....along with a TV. After a pretty poor night's sleep it was shower time and what a shock that was. First of all the shampoo, conditioners, etc were what was left over from the last guest...only one third to one half full Turning to the tub it was ringed at one end by black mould...and lots of it. At this point we asked ourselves "if they didn't replace the shampoo etc...did they even change the sheets...!!!!!!!" Please give this hotel a "Hard Pass"...there are plenty of other much better options in the area. This was a lesson well learned by us...."check a room thoroughly and don't be afraid to refuse it...!!!!"
