Murder Room at the Super8 Every hotel as at least one room where someone was killed. I got the murder room at the Super8 in Gurnee, Illinois. Notice the blood stains next to the bed. Love it! This is the third hotel in 24 years where I have scored the murder room. Check in clerk was great!

Won't Be Coming Back I usually don't dive into the negative review scene, and I'm not out to harm anyone's business, but after my recent stay, I am compelled to give a heads-up to my Navy family and their friends/families planning trips for future graduations in the area. I knew going in that this was a budget hotel and gave a lot of slack to the state of the room repair (including a sign on the mini-fridge recommending guests not use it for perishables??), broken furniture, destroyed AC unit, and generally poor cleanliness. But I didn't expect to have some of my personal belongings taken. When I came back to my room after being out with my daughter, I noticed that my room had been cleaned, but all of my personal belongings in the bathroom were gone! When I brought it up to the front desk, they did nothing more than apologize and promise to ask housekeeping about it. Nothing else! Inexpensive and budget shouldn't come at the price of safety and security. I can accept that some hotels need more maintenance or cleaning, but if you can't keep your guests' personal items safe, then you have failed at a fundamental level. I shared my experience with Wyndham corporate and they deferred me back to the franchise owner of this location and said they passed on my concern. To this day, I've gotten no responses or had anyone reach out about my experience. Based on my experience, I recommend not staying here if you are coming to the area.

labor day stay The room with the jacuzzi was very comfortable the jacuzzi worked great and was clean. . The washer and dryer worked just fine also the ice machine and vending machines. Restaurants and bar are walking distance from hotel and six flags is about a 20 minute walk don't have to pay for parking.

Racism It was such a horrible behaviour of owner (Jeet patel ). He was very being racist to me he just kicked me out as i was south indian and he’s Gujarati. It’s was such a shame on super 8 franchise, that they’re allowing this kind of people to own their motels. I would directly try to connect (Alan herig ) on mail and let them know racism on this democratic city Chicago. Since i had reserved a room for my friend and he was tired driving 16 hours + and he was very demanding and completely rude to him, he had to find another hotel at mid night. Had to take serious action on it.

bring lysol I cried and felt sick to my stomach. rugs never ever vacuumed. forget the no smoking signs I thought my eyes were going, smoke and smell filled the hallways and it hit you like a brick wall when you walked in. the only reason we didn't run is because my 92 year old uncle and wife were staying there and my family, that booked 3 rooms didn't want to make them feel bad. I had to somehow get through this and not let it ruin our time so I ran to Kroger's across the street and got 3 cans of lysol and 1 can of wipes and a citrus candle to burn. my room 115 will be the cleanest if you have to stay there. I sprayed so much out my door, my sister noticed the hallway cleared up. we laughed because the man at counter had cameras and probably seen me. they had to notice the fresh smell! needless to say I got no sleep. We all left a day early and ate the money we paid for this disaster. normally I'm the person that makes sure if I liked something I tell them not this...but I had to. corporate clean this up and check up on what is going on there. my 85 year old mom dealt with smoke of weed and cigs...if you like clean, this is not your place.
