Don't pick a front facing room...very noisy road/people Reception staff lovely - especially Stevie who was very friendly / helpfull Breakfast (extra) good - could have been a bit hotter - chap was also very friendly Room - we stayed in a superior room - it wasn't. Bed was comfy - 4 poster. But it was hot and very noisy. Road is very busy. Had to leave window open due to overbearing fresh paint smell. Bathroom / furniture could do with upgrade. No hand soap in room? No extra loo paper. Room 101 - next to us - very noisy on the Fri nite - laughed/ talked to 4am - then I could hear them snoring - between them & road I got no sleep. Parking ok - £5. No lifts. Also see picture - ceiling stuffed with paper?

Not a advertised Having read a lot of negative reviews we were apprehensive and it was justified the room we were given (114) was tiny and very very dated it should have been a single room not a double! We asked to be moved to a more suitable room which in fairness to the staff member was sorted and we were moved to a bigger room (201). I don't understand what this hotel is trying to be the reception and bar are very modern and nicely finished but no one seems to use it i only saw one family use the restaurant in the two nights there and as for breakfast we were the only couple to have it. The £100 deposit is a joke I heard a few people complain when booking in as we did , so in my opinion look around for a better hotel and avoid this one until they decide to upgrade all of the rooms and take the leap and become a fully functional hotel. One last thing the majority of the images are not this hotel

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL Firstly the pics on the booking.com website are fake. It looks nothing like it makes out to be. A staff member even admitted there were wrong! Then soon as you arrive they want £100 deposit straight away for “damages”.Never in my life have I had to leave a deposit for a hotel stay! No matter what they will not let you off, they are adamant you need to pay it yet no where do they make it clear it is a thing that happens. Every guest while we stayed questioned reception about it and were not happy either. I asked a staff member when we left and said it was hotel policy, look at reviews and some pay £100, some £50 etc. doesn’t seem like a policy to me when it looks like you charge what you think based on the guests. Anyway, after that was immediately taken out of our bank account we went to our room. What an absolute joke! How anyone can think a room they give us is acceptable should not be in the hotel business. Tiny room, every surface and bit of furniture was marked. Felt dirty, smelt dirty, was dirty! £100 deposit for damages they charge, there isn’t even £100 of anything in the whole room!! They should be paying us to stay in it! Bathroom even worse, we don’t even use the shower for risk of catching something, we had to use the basin for a clean down, no way on earth was I getting in that bath! Sticker on wall says for safety please use bath mat provided and make sure shower curtain is inside the bath. There isn’t a bath mat and there ain’t a shower curtain! Another sticker saying save the environment, leave towel on towel rail if you wish to use again etc. guess what, no towel rail, just a hole in the wall and a bit of plastic stuck out further along where I presume used to be a towel rail. All sealing round bath and sink rotten and stinks, extractor not been cleaned since hotel was built! We left a day early as couldn’t stomach it any more and went to a premier inn which was luxury in comparison get only £15 a night more!! Our view from window was like Steptoe & Sons scrapyard. Reception not helpful at all, just got we take deposit as we’re renovating the hotel. So what! Why should guests be paying for it? The rooms need closing till they’re done, not fit for renting out! I told them to look at the reviews they get, people slating it like I am. I said look and learn something but didn’t seem bothered at all about it, long as they had your money then that was it, not bothered that every guest who stayed would never come back or recommend them to anyone! Absolute joke of a place. Dave your money folks, far superior hotels in the area for the same and cheaper and also that don’t take an extra £100 off you which can takes days and days to get back which involves having to keep chasing up with hotel. Put a complaint in to Booking.com as they are advertising as something it isn’t with fake pictures! Stay well clear!

Go to the reliable Premier Inn Very handy location near station but that was the only benefit. Breakfast was terrible, a mixture of undercooked and burnt. Coffee undrinkable and/or tepid. The room was clean and comfortable enough: the place had been recently refurbished but on the cheap (poor quality paintwork for example). There was no hairdrier as promised by the description, free toiletries comprised 2 bars of soap and 2 mismatched shampoos.
