Better than expected Just back from a long weekend at this Hotel. My experience was far better than I had been led to expect from some other reviews. We arrived very late because of the weather in the Channel (around half past midnight) but the staff were cheerful and friendly. The room was large with a huge (6ft wide!) double bed; plenty of towels in the bathroom; fridge (empty, no minibar); big tv at a more-or-less acceptable height with a good selection of programmes in various languages. The food was lovely and served well by very busy waiting staff. Breakfast very extensive to include English-type cooked, full continental with rolls, croissants etc, yoghurts, juice etc. The Hotel appears to have a 4-star rating but perhaps 4-star means something different in Belgium. It was perfectly acceptable but parts could do with a deep clean (cobwebs between the curtains and the window; fridge rack needed a scrub).

Point of improvenent People dont speek Dutch. So strange! And no Dutch tv channels. This is a point of improvement! The lady of the swimmingpool was very kind. And arranged that we still could swim. But show that thus is a country where people speek two languiges! Be proud of it! Stop with that languige fight!

Festive break Hotel needs a bit of a tidy up from the outside and in, was a little tired yet cosy in a weird way Rooms were a good standard always warm and plenty of hot water. Beds were quite firm with plenty of extra blankets and pillows if needed Can get a little noisy at times in the corridor The bar is quite small for the amount of people using the hotel The food was ok at night there was a set menu or the bar selection - we had the bar selection and one meal would have easily fed both of us Breakfast was Basic buffet style They need to learn how to cook scrambled egg though tasted like a whole jar of salt had been tipped in this was the same all three mornings and everyone said the same Ideal hotel for the Christmas markets set just off the ring road All staff friendly and very helpful

Shearings coach tour We stopped here on our last night of our Christmas break. It looked promising but that soon went. Check in was good reception looked festive and welcoming. We were given room 24 on the ground floor. It was a decent size with twin beds. The beds were comfy but very narrow. There were tea making facilities, a small fridge, safe and tv with a couple of UK channels. The room itself was a bit shabby with some odd stains on the carpet, cracked tiles in the bathroom and all in need of refurbishment. It was not what I would class as a 4*. The buffet food in the restaurant was standard and uninspiring so good my husband had 2 salad starters but minus the cold black pudding. Breakfast was not much better. The drinks in the bar were usual prices but very nicely presented and the little bar area was probably the nicest bit of this hotel. In all a disappointing stay to a disappointing coach trip.
