Clean, comfortable, great location My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights while in Hawaii for a friend's wedding. Because we were part of a wedding block, we got a decent discount; I'm not sure how much the regular cost per night is. I think there are some expectations to set here if you're from the mainland. This is a nice hotel, but not everything will be like it is in Chicago or Louisville or Orlando. When you drive up/first arrive, the first level is drop-offs/parking/valet/bell services and the Hiking Hawaii cafe (more on that in a minute). There are elevators to any floor and an escalator up to the lobby. So the lobby is partially open-air and can get a bit warm. Off the lobby is the breakfast area/bar. Breakfast is not free. The only freebies here are cookies upon checkin and free wifi for Hilton Honors members. We stayed on the 9th floor in a corner room. The view was nice - a look down Ala Moana Blvd and a hint of ocean. The hallways are open-air, and can get stuffy, though obviously you're mostly not hanging out in the hallway for too long. The rooms do have AC and ours worked pretty well. We had a king bed room which left space for a nice easy chair (wish list: small ottoman to rest your feet) and a desk. The room was nice, clean and modern; I did see a few little flies around but nothing alarming. The showerhead was GREAT although the stall was a bit snug; I did appreciate having a big vanity/table to set things on. Bed was comfortable and the linens were nice. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, aside from a couple cocktails at the bar. I did get coffee a few times at the Hiking Hawaii cafe - it's cute, very hippie, and you do get 10% off which is a small perk when you're paying $7+ for a latte. I didn't eat anything there but they do have pastries, bagels and acai bowls plus lunchy stuff. The pool is on the 4th floor along with a nice patio area where you can chill in the evening. The pool is basic but was decently shaded and pleasant to cool off in. There is also a gym which we didn't use. We did see the conference center a little bit - our friend's reception was held there. It's an odd little building attached by a walkway up some stairs, with a very low-ceilinged hallway. But the room itself was nice and the food was good. Location wise, it's good - be prepared to walk a bit, but there are good coffee shops, restaurants, etc nearby (Hilton Hawaiian Village is about 2 blocks) and the beach is a 5-10 minute walk. Recs: Sunny's Local Grind, great little coffeehouse on the block directly behind the hotel; Island Country Market, a variant of the ubiquitous ABC Store with lots of fresh food, coffee, malasadas and basic supplies; Waikiki Brewing, right next door with great beer, cocktails and food. (I do not particularly recommend Kan Sushi which is AYCE but was not that good for the price.)

It was ok The mini-fridge is way smaller than the standard mini-fridge in all the hotels I have ever stayed at. We had a 6 person room and a single-king room, the tiny fridge wasn’t even sufficient for the single-king bed room for multiple days let alone the room for 6 people for multiple days. The single-king bed suite did not have a microwave but the 6 person suite did, but for the price it should have had a microwave. The on site *mandatory* valet parking is an unnecessary hassle as well as OBSCENELY OVERPRICED. We all should be able to just park in the garage ourself (like we did in another hotel there). We stayed at a slightly classier hotel nearby last summer and the parking fee was way cheaper and *not* mandatory- valet and it had the standard hotel mini-fridge that was a sufficient size. You can hear sirens even on top floors all night with windows/slider closed (Same as another hotel we stayed at nearby). The rooms were nice and clean. We were comfortable, it had a nice atmosphere. I have never stayed in a Hilton before but this definitely was a little less customer oriented and a little less classy than what I envisioned.

Dated style, Amazing staff, great value for the location! The only ding i give this property is that it is clearly a little dated. In terms of older looking styles and chairs/carpet etc. (please do not confuse this with cleanliness. the property was very clean). Outside of that I thought it was in a great location, not too far of a walk from the beach and close enough to everything else that you can enjoy all of the amenities of other nearby restaurants/hotels that this one may not have (fireworks on Friday's at Hilton Village).

Avoid! Do not stay here. Really really disappointed in this hotel, especially given the brand. We paid extra to have an ocean view suite. It was not a suite at all. It had a bedroom that was separated by 4 strange divider doors that didn't even close fully. The other room was a lounge with kitchenette. There was one 2 seater couch and no additional seating. The issue was us was the constant banging and clanging noises in our room, which were constant through the day and night. We stayed for 9 nights and had peaceful blissful silence for the first 2 nights. The remaining 7 nights can only be described as hell on earth. The metal banging happened every minute or two. At first, we thought someone was trying to break into our room in the middle of the night. We thought it was our air con so we turned it off. But the noises continued throughout the night. We spoke to reception the next morning and they sounded surprised but said they'd get maintenance to check it out. We got back later in the day to a msg on the answer machine telling us that the noise was due to the air conditioning, it was normal and "there's nothing we can do about it" (I saved a recording of the voice msg on my phone). We looked to see if we could move hotels but the short time proximity meant the prices were astronomical. Neither of us got much sleep the remaining 6 nights, as we were constantly being woken up by the noises. What should have been a relaxing and restful 10 days away has resulted in us leaving absolutely exhausted from lack of sleep and can't wait to get home. I spoke to reception upon check out to let them know we didn't enjoy the stay due to the noises. Elsa was lovely and said she would look into it. Then offered me 2 days resort fees ($70) refund. I explained that I wasn't interested in any refund, I just want them to sort the noise so other guests don't have to experience it. Still, I found the $70 refund an absolute kick in the face, given it cost over $3000. Pros of the room: the aircon worked well. It is noisy coming into the room (the fan goes very hard) but it cools the room quickly. The rooms appeared to be sound proofed next to each other. We never heard any sounds from next door, above or below us which we enjoyed. We were on the 17th floor and could hear the road noise due to holes and gaps in the door joinery leading to the balcony. Cons: on top of the above, the short was also very bizarre. It would be lovely and hot and very good pressure and then suddenly, pressure would drop and it'd either go boiling hot or freezing cold. I checked that the other room occupant wasn't running a tap to impact on the shower and he wasn't. This would happen every 1 or 2 mins during the showering. The shower would also make really loud screeching sounds just prior to the change in pressure and temperature. This didn't bother us enough to complain, as we take relatively quick showers. A male at check in also had terrible customer service. He was standing by a computer not serving anyone, meaning there was only one person checking people in. The queue got to about 6 people before he decided to start helping. He checked me in then I asked for him to change a $20 bill so I could tip the porter. He told me he was finished for the day so I'd have to join the back of the queue to be helped by another staff member. He didn't explain where the pool was, where the restaurant was. We didn't know anything. We didn't know the wifi password. He handed us our cookies then walked away, within a few minutes that it took me to put my purse away, collect my bags, he had changed his t shirt and collected his bag and was walking out of the hotel. We later found out that double tree now offer a cookie for allergy sufferers, which my companion would've needed. This male did not offer me that option (and I didn't know it was an option). To conclude, customer service seems like it is not a priority at all for this hotel. As others have said, they should not carry the Hilton brand. I did not see evidence of bugs in our room, however we both woke on different days with bits on our bodies. Can't confirm if they happened in the hotel or not though. We would absolutely never stay here again and would not recommend it to anybody.

Bed bugs Stay away- Hotel has bedbugs- They are making zero attempts to try to make up for this experience. The Hilton name doesn’t represent respect and appreciation for their customers. The customer service is not what you would expect from such a well known brand. Very disappointing
