Not an ideal spot for Honeymooners It’s been a rough year and after finally being able to book our honeymoon, check in experience was not as special as I thought it would. If you’re a couple looking forward to going on your honeymoon and feeling special, even with Gold Elite status, this is not the best place to pick. I get it, the pandemic and all and everyone has gone through it the past 2 years. The hotel is nice and the staff do their job, but nothing to go the extra mile. I tried to emphasize how we were on our honeymoon and requested for anything to make our trip a bit more special, but got nothing. If your here just for vacation and aren’t looking for anything special, this hotel is amazing and right by the beach, but if you’re looking for a little more, try some place else.

Many Missing Components The property was overcrowded, yet there were numerous venues (Starbucks, restaurants, etc.) that were closed throughout my 21-day stay. Patrons such as myself were forced to go off property and spend money elsewhere simply because there were no options at the resort. For example, the Starbucks inside the hotel was closed all 21 days during my stay forcing myself and other guests to walk a block outside the property to get coffee. I was also disappointed to learn there was no in room dining options available. Additionally, I paid $45 daily to self park and there were numerous occasions where I was forced to valet. Valet staff was very professional and always remembered my name. The room was also a descent size and comfortable. Be aware when booking as the view listed on the website versus the actual view of the ocean is a bit misleading. Also, be ready for a long wait for the elevators as the hotel felt like it was at capacity — wait time up to 10 minutes depending on the time of day. Online check out was convenient and my folio was accurate. All in all, the overall stay was fair to average. Even as a Bonvoy member, I would choose to stay elsewhere on future visits.

Not what it used to be I stayed here on a business trip, if this was a vacation, it would have been a ONE First, as far as Marriott properties go, this is probably still the best value, but not the nicest. I've stayed at Sheraton Princess and Marriott Courtyard in Waikiki, and this is probably the best of those two horrible properties. The Moana Surfrider is probably the nicest, if you can afford it. Princess Sheraton I stayed at during the Marriott/Sheraton merger, so there were protests and stop work so no amenities available, including room cleaning, food service, anything. Ok onto this property, I'll start with the BAD: 1. Check in- was not told I had to "request" for room to be serviced daily. So after second day, I asked if room was going to be serviced, and was told that it had to be requested 24 hours in advance, it should have been asked at check-in..nope! 2. The air conditioning unit in the room was continually stuck in "Lanai" mode, so was not able to get room cool. Tried calling front desk, no answer. No answer like five times at all times. 3. WiFi was HORRIBLE. Continually disconnected and very low speed when connected (so much for resort fee, and being Titanium would've gotten free anyways) 4. Parking. Who pays $45 to park, only to have no parking in the garage available? Then you have to go to valet ($50), which is fine but from the time you drive through the garage, then all the way back around the hotel via the one way streets, it's honestly close to 30 minutes. 5. Breakfast. Only benefit offered to Bonvoy member with breakfast, but why is it only $14 credit for one or two persons regardless? Why (if only one person is ordering) can't it be $28? 6. Being a Bonvoy member (Titanium for life), the answer is always "We are a resort and do not offer other benefits". 7. Resort Fee? For what?? Free Internet? See above. Oh free DVD rental...uh, it's 2021, I can watch on Netflix...oh wait, there is no way I could watch on Netflix because of the bandwith. Oh and you get a cheap plastic water bottle to fill. The $37 is for a towel service, the one I just grabbed since there was no one there? Oh must be the super nice pool...oh yeah, that is closed for refurbishment! Ok, the GOOD: 1. Location! 2. Room remodel are nice (but please get rid of the tub/shower combo...PLEASE!) 3. Location!

Nice Stay, Courteous Staff, Good Prices! We have been staying here for 10 days and I would rate our over all experience as good. The room we booked is newly renovated ocean view with great sunsets. The service has been great from valet parking to delivering wine cups and towels to our room. The hotel staff are courteous and responsive. We had some issues with the WIFI but it’s working now. Finally, the rates have been fair in comparison to similar hotels who have used the pandemic to extort more money from their vacation hungry customers!

Worth it! This resort was worth the stay. The resort is across the street from the beach and walking distant of restaurants and shops. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. They offer a service where you can chat with the front desk through the app if you have questions or requests and they are very helpful and quick to respond. There is a water fill station downstairs, so many shops within the resort, Starbucks, etc. The rooms have been renovated and ours was very spacious and nice. We had an ocean view room in the Kealohilani tower and it was so relaxing to wake up and watch the waves roll in. Sure, it was noisy, busy and crowded. They have been doing construction on the pool which you can hear during the day from your balcony or if your balcony door is open. They have to finish the pool sometime, right? If noise bothers you I suggest the other tower, or maybe even somewhere not in Waikiki because it’s very touristy and loud in general, but it didn’t bother us. We came to Waikiki during the busiest time of year, where the streets and surrounding areas are full of people so there is constant noise, construction or not. I was very pleased staying here and I would 100% stay at this resort again and again in the future.
