Stay away Courtyard review This is by far the worst Courtyard we have ever stayed at. It is the worst hotel we have stayed at within the Marriott chain. It is such a dated hotel - the rooms smell musky, the carpets leave your socks dirty, there is only one plug at each side of the bed… We asked for a crib and it came without a mattress. It was just slats inside a liner making it impossible to sleep on. When we complained about it the housekeeper tried to make a makeshift mattress with sheets and blankets but having loose blankets in a crib is dangerous. The housekeeper said that every person who requests a crib ends up complaining about it and that he’s told his manager that they need to buy some mattresses but that nothing is being done about it. Perfect. We had a terrible night. We had to move rooms as well because some partiers were smoking weed in their rooms/stairwells making the whole floor reek of weed smell. Did it help that we moved to a different room on a different floor? No it did not. They tested the fire alarm on Sunday at 7.30pm…. The AC in the rooms is incredibly loud. I had to sleep with earplugs and yet I heard it as if I had nothing in. Way too loud. The pool is so rusty and old that you think you’ll catch something going in. We didn’t even try the whirlpool as it had particles swimming in it and was extremely rusty. Everything just looks neglected. However, towel rack was stocked up and clean. The only reason I’m giving the hotel 2 stars instead of 1 is because of he housekeeping staff. They were extremely friendly and tried their best to help us out with the tools they had available. Especially the lady with the curly/wavy short hair. Whenever we needed towels they also came up very quickly (within 5 mins). We booked the parking package and they sent us the bill with the package as well as $21 parking for each day. Good thing we checked the bill! Stay away from this hotel. Go anywhere else!!

Priority is not set at a Good Night´s Rest We learned that groups make their way from New Orleans to Houston on the weekends and continue to party in their rooms. We complained to the front desk of loud music and banging and to our surprise the security person was complacent to the partying neighbor’s (to say the least) and the front desk offered, after several calls, and at 3AM to move us, but required us to pay for a second room (after 30 minutes they conceded but wanted to us to pack and move our stuff to the new room) . Incredible experience for a social psychologist but terrible for a insomniac father and husband after a redeye flight. We understand Hotels need the extra revenue after CV19, but you would expect a minimum amount of decency and civility a basic for minimum congenial relations. May I suggest advertising as a Party Hotel and let families stay elsewhere?? , or at least segment your market and make some floors "sleep friendly". The ambiance is gloomy with memorabilia from the parties left around and strange characters looming around, I would not stay there if they offered nights for free. (¡¡You´ve been warned !!)

A very dissapointing Weekend stay! The Hotel is dated. We asked to change rooms since the walls are paper thin and our next door neighbors were extremely loud. The breakfast is lousy: Yogurt, Apples/Oranges & Bananas, Blueberry Muffin and a Chocolate Chip Granola Bar + Coffee. There is no daily cleaning service due to Covid. And there is no SAFE in the room!!! Not sure how this is possible in 2021. We were scared to leave our passports and laptops/tablets in the room because of this...

No masks, no bistro, no room cleaning I just stayed at this hotel, first Marriott since January 2020. Marriott has definitely gone down. There is a sign outside and everywhere saying masks should be worn in all public areas. That is clearly not enforced. People make their check in with out masks, we even were in the elevator with an employee not wearing a mask. Breakfast at the bistro cannot be called breakfast, some apple and oranges, yogurt, muffins and granola bars. My son just stayed at the new Courtyard by the airport and he said the bistro was working with a reduced menu. Room cleaning is not offered during your stay, they say because of Covid, but if they don't enforce mask wearing anywhere, I think it's to save money as well as with the bistro. I have stayed at other hotels in the last few months and dined at restaurants and the service is much better, even with Covid, than at this Marriott. The rooms are old and the hotel is not well kept in general... I will not be staying at any Marriott anytime soon even though I am a Gold Member.

Lackluster Accomodations We had a very lackluster hotel experience this past week at the Courtyard-Galleria. First impression walking into our room was mediocre. It was kind of dingy, smelly, and humid. The smell never let up, and the humidity never changed with lowering the temperature. The pillows were very uncomfortable and offered no support, the shower head was kind of old/broken and kept spewing water out the side getting the bathroom floor wet. The breakfast was laughable. Granola bars and Otis spunkmeyer muffins, bruised apples and unripened oranges, really bad coffee with coffee grinds all in the coffee and no other choices for drinks. What hotel doesn’t even offer water as part of the breakfast? I will never stay here again and I will tell everyone I know to not come here either. It’s too bad too bc I don’t live too far and I know lots of people who go to Houston for a little getaway.
