Great Hotel Stay Report - 8/14 to 8/15 Location: The hotel is located just north of the Power and Light District on 11th and Grand.  It's a good neighborhood though if you go a little bit to the east it starts to get sketchy.  On weekends the neighborhood directly around the hotel is quiet but the nightlife spots are pretty close.  It's near to I-670, I-35 and I-70 as well so getting around the area is easy. Hotel: The hotel is a lovingly preserved old building that drips luxury.  I'll get the negative out of the way: the parking situation is not great.  They have a tiny shared lot with maybe 30 spaces and it's $25 a day.  Parking at night is hard to find.  But other than that I loved the hotel.  There's a gorgeous lobby with sitting areas and a good restaurant which does breakfast, dinner and live music at nights.  They also had free coffee out in the morning. Check In: Done very well by a friendly agent who acknowledged my status, asked if I wanted welcome points or a $10 F&B as a Titanium and offered breakfast or more points.  Service from everyone was helpful and friendly. Room: I had booked a room with two beds and I was surprised by how big it was.  The beds were both kings which is really rare and there was lots of space in general.  There was a desk, TV, huge bathroom with stand up shower and two sinks, sitting area, closet with robes in it as well as a really nice welcome gift.  My only complaint is that outlets are in short supply.   Dining: The Titanium Breakfast here is a coupon for continental breakfast.  The weekend meal is brunch and we were given a $12 credit.  Most entrees are in the $13-15 range.  Food was really high quality and service great. Overall an excellent hotel.  I had a great stay here and would happily be back.

Nice but average I think I've experienced too many Marriott properties that are simply better than this one. The Ambassador is a nice, small hotel --- but nothing memorable. The hotel is situated on a postage stamp property, which is likely the reason there's no grand entrance or foyer, or stylish, intimate restaurant. The "upgrade" room was still small and with no extra amenities. Quite disappointing. As always, the bed was super comfortable though. I'd stay there again if other luxury KC hotels were full up. Staff was friendly and the place was very clean.

Outstanding in every way!!! Wrapping up a stay at the Ambassador and can't say enough about how happy I've been staying the last 3 nights. Been traveling to KC the last 26 years on business (always staying on the Plaza) but now have a new home at the Ambassador near the fun Power and Light District. Was at the Ambassador in Wichita a few week ago and met Paul Coury with his family and they made me feel like a friend...not a 'guest'! Thanks Paul for creating a great hotel portfolio and staffing with outstanding folks!

Disappointing in many ways I am an RN with Titanium Elite status here to help with Covid surge in dialysis. This place charges $20 a night for parking. I asked to be placed in a quiet room. I was placed on 2nd floor facing the street. The guy at front desk said “oh it is a quiet room”. It was not quiet, and anyone with some common sense would know better. Street noise most of the night. I had already disinfected the entire room, so I just used an app on my phone with white noise and stayed. It was also right next to very bright street light making it impossible to block out all light. The restaurant food was average. Cheeseburger was about as average as could be. Brussel sprouts the same. Room was pretty nice. Beds were very firm (which I like), but if you don’t like a firm bed, I would definitely NOT stay here. The hotel location is nicely placed in the power and light district. The street view side has a view of the parking garage. The room was actually cleaned very well. The TV had streaming options, but I couldn’t get to them. The remote is highly confusing. The shower handle was shady with screws actually showing. I left a day earlier which I often do because of my job. I checked out, and the front desk person said she usually has to charge a daily fee for this. I have NEVER been told that from a Hilton property. Unfortunately, this is the 2nd Marriott property that has done this. She called an hour later stating that since I left a day early (4 nights instead of 5) and my rate was based on days stayed, the were going to my per night rate almost $40. This was almost equal to just saying 5 nights, so I just had them keep it. I didn’t want to give them the pleasure of jacking it up. During these times, the hotels including this one have been empty. Every single hotel besides this one have offered me a discounted rate just by seeing me in scrubs. Hotels have been doing everything in their power to make travelers happy and keep their business. Unfortunately, I guess this hotel has all the business they need. For now, I will be looking for Hilton properties in the KC area.
