Fit the bill with some limitations This place is at the end of a residential street with very little in the way of signage. Trust your GPS. Check in was fine with a nice lady asking for floor preferences. The common areas were clean and seemed in good order. We had three rooms that were clean and comfortable. One of the rooms(121) had an heating/cooling unit that sounded like an off kilter clothes dryer and another room had a bone dry body wash canister. A real limitation on this place is the breakfast arrangements. They do not include a breakfast in your rate…which is fine. However, they do state they offer some breakfast items for purchase. There was no dedicated breakfast person. If you want to order something the person at the front desk helps you. It was a bit of a chore just to get an English muffin. The property’s isolated location means there is no merely walking to a restaurant….or even a convenience store. You would definitely have a little bit of a drive ahead of you. This place is a recently renamed Courtyard by Marriott. The Marriott furniture was still in the room. In looking at some of the context clues at the property I foresee a downward trajectory. But for now it was a solid option at its lower price point.

Definitely didn't seem like a one-off We stayed one night at the Sonesta Select. Upon arrival the bathroom was still dirty, with pubic and other hair and other general dirtiness on the floor, around the toilet, and in the bathtub at first glance. See photos. Supervisor Robin was a phonecall away, who offered to come clean the bathroom stating there were no other free rooms so that was the best she could offer. She stated there was nobody else available but she didn't mind. I thought she was above and beyond a peach, so i'm confused by her notes. We resumed our evening, and around 10:30 or so I felt something touch my face from the pillow. I went to brush it away and something moved to my chest. It was a flea. The flea jumped off of my chest onto the bed, and before I could catch it jumped onto the floor where it blended in with the carpet. I searched for an unjustifiably long time, due to my child's fear of insects and own prior traumas triggered by unclean situations. While inspecting for the flea, I couldn't help but notice just how dirty the floor was. Filthy. I reported it to the front desk who said Robin was busy. No call back. We went to bed. In the morning, my child exclaimed about ants. We had 1) makeup supplies 2) m&ms and gummy bears, and an empty container which had some remnants of white sugar but no ants in it and 3) clothes out on the furniture housing the tv and fridge. That is all. The ants were in my makeup, we trashed the candy and other container, and checked everything else out. We didn't stay to even shower. The bathroom floor, the farthest area from teh window where i figured they came in at, had three ants running around on it. There were more throughout the room. We took video. We reported this to teh front desk upon leaving and were told a manager would call us Monday. No call. Wednesday i called and Robin said she would have the manager call us. No call. Thursday I called and Robin said she would transfer me to leave a message. No call. Friday I called and finally, after insistence, was pushed through to the manager. He told me that he was interested in talking to me until I had reported it to the state. I let him know I reported it, as I work in public health and fleas are a vector for disease and it needs to be reviewed. It was nothing personal. The hotel underwent inspection, and there was no insect found. Granted: I had no insects in teh room until the morning. My question was: could an infestation be in the early stages? Regardless, my question was unheard. He gaslighted me quite well, letting me know that their notes and the state inspection proved nothing I said was true. He told me then that Robin had in her notes that she had offered me another room and I denied that as an accommodation. We were told there were no other rooms and that was why she had come to clean the room. My 14-year-old can attest. It was also added to the notes that we had a dog traveling with us. Our dogs were with my husband all weekend, and I don't even know if this hotel allows pets. I have never once traveled with a pet. Lol. That's the point of a vacation for us. We rarely go anywhere together as I am a student right now and boarding our two dogs is expensive on top of the trip. We were in town for a grad party, and then went to see art museums the entire next day. My child is on the spectrum with OCD and PTSD. They could hardly sleep with the accommodations being what they were. Will not be going back or recommending to others, they don't appear to believe their guests or support customer service in the fashion I agree with. I am a medical anthropology/public health major and the bias plus gaslighting were interesting to say the least. Will be reaching out to corporate on Monday as they also added a $75 pet fee without even checking cameras to validate the fact we did not have a pet with us. I did however mention I did not want to TAKE fleas home to my dog, perhaps this lent itself to confusion. Who would want to bring a potential infestation home from a hotel to their family and pets? Would highly advise checking your charges. Supervisor was in our room, no pet unless you consider my 14-year-old child a pet. Lol. Have uploaded videos and pictures to Google. There are other reviews on Google with user experiences of bedbugs too, but somehow they keep passing inspections. If you call the manager be ready for what I constitute as emotional abuse.

Horrible .... travelers BEWARE Wish i could leave no stars for this disgusting place...oh and the horrible pictures I took of our room.... this place should be disappointed for almost chargong 200 dollars a night but had to wait an extra hr just to check into a dirty room.. their solution was to send housekeeping up at 515 pm and reclean our room.... then front desk handed us a remote and we were told to do it ourselves... box for remote even had handwritten instructions for us.... problem was they gave us the wrong remote _... worse part of it all i have my disabled grandfather with me whose Insulin went bad because there refrigerator didn't work after they said they would bring us a new one..... the next day, Saturday maintenance was called in to help us and still never brought a fridge just explained to us they gave us the wrong remote.... 1st off qho gives a paying guest a rwmote and tells thwm to program it themselves??? Arent we here for comfort??. Needless to say, we never got a new frigerator in our room... staff doesn't care, they just follow the managements lead... Our problems, never got resolved..... Tried for a week to get ahold of a manager, but no one ever responded back to me..... This place is going downhill quickly and we will not be returning..... I just think it's horrible to have so many problems and pays so much money. And nothing be resolved or taking care of...... travelers beware. I also have tons of pictures from the dirty microwave. Sticky floors stuff all over the TV, etc..... Come on management you guys have to do a better job.....

Not So Good! This used to be a Marriott Hotel. We really liked it when it was a Marriott Hotel. Not so much now as Sonesta. We chose it because they (when they were Marriott) used to have a very good breakfast you could purchase. You can still get a very limited breakfast (they were out of some of their offerings) that is very lacking. Our sink drained extremely slowly and our brother-in-law's room the bath tub didn't drain when he was taking a shower. He was standing in water! We do not plan to stay here again.

Terrible Such a disappointment. We travel a lot and rely on reviews to help us chose the best locations. After reading the reviews, this place looked like a safe bet. We needed to go to Kansas City to visit my dad in the hospital. When we checked into our room, it was really hot in the room. We messed with the thermostat, but it didn't seem to do anything. We called the front desk and they said they would send the maintenance guy but that they would have to probably send someone the next day to actually fix it. They also couldn't move us because the hotel was full. The guy came and couldn't get the thermostat to work and said they would send someone the next day. It was super hot in the room through the night and pretty miserable. The next morning, I called the front desk to see if they were planning to send another guy to fix it. The front desk lady, was very dismissive but said she would call me back. She never called back, and we needed to leave for the day, so I headed to the front desk to check. I walked up and Susanna, the front desk clerk was so incredibly rude I could not even believe it! I seriously haven't been treated so poorly in as long as I can remember. She should definitely rethink her career in customer service. She wouldn't even answer me. All she would say was, "Okayyyyyy....Okayyyyy." So I walked away not even knowing whether they were planning on fixing the thermostat or if anything would happen. I still have no idea what is happening. I called the customer service line and told them about the issue, but haven't heard back.
