Great overnight stay Stayed for 1 night as part of a weekend getaway. Used one of my suite nights and got a corner king suite with plaza views. For the number of rooms this boutique hotel has I was really surprised how many staff there were. The front desk staff were very friendly. Easy walk to the Plaza for shopping and dining. As a Titanium Elite member was given two $15 vouchers to use towards breakfast in Chaz - brisket and eggs was great. Room was a little pricey ($350) for Saturday night but Garth was in town and I compared it to lower end Marriott brands and felt the difference was well worth it

Jewel in a great part of KC Gorgeous boutique hotel along Brush Creek - high end accommodations, walkable to a lot of restaurants and retail. Older property but kept up really well, Staff were very attentive. Great little jazz band playing in the entry plaza late afternoon weekdays.

3rd night road trip This place is in a very upscale section of KC. It is a gorgeous property. The chief and I stayed there for a night and the staff was wonderful. The room was old style stodgy but very nice. The Sunday brunch menu was nice and we sat outside. Our server was professional and nice too. Definitely recommend this place!

Lovely, but questionable I have stayed at this property in the past and have enjoyed the location and historical aspect of this hotel. However, I was extremely disappointed in my recent one night stay with the lack of check-in personality by the General Manager Amy. I was met with a cold welcome (if you can call it that), and upon asking if an upgrade was available... I was met with a direct "we are fully committed tonight." What Amy failed to realize is that not only am I a lifetime Platinum Elite member and entitled to such benefit... but also am a luxury travel advisor who has access to live hotel inventory. So I could see that not only was she denying the benefit, but she was also blatantly lying to me. I don't expect such treatment from any hotel, and certainly not an Autograph Collection. Will certainly make me question future stays here. I am giving service 4-stars because the rest of the staff shouldn't be punished for the interaction with the GM.

Comfortable, updated and professionally run Marriott property We stayed here two nights as part of a long road trip, one night on the way to our final destination and one night on the return. One of us is a Marriott Bonvoy member and regularly stays at a number of Marriotts for work, and we were upgraded to a larger king suite with city views on the front travel end and river views on the return. We loved this hotel. The location was great, and our rooms were spacious, quiet, nicely decorated and very comfortable. This is a retrofitted building originally from the 1920's, if memory serves, and sometimes this means the bathrooms are of varying degrees of spaciousness (to put it nicely!) but our bathrooms in each direction were good - the river view one was great, very spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable and room temperature/control was great. Everything felt freshly updated - no dings on the furniture. Our only complaint was the lack of outlets on one side of the bed, which is annoying as there's nowhere to plug your phone next to you! The fitness center was really nice, with a bunch of weight training gear, a BOSU, weighted balls, cardio equipment and lots of bottled waters and granola bars. :) Staff were all fantastic, very friendly and professional. We didn't try the hotel restaurant in person but did get a breakfast room service one morning (oatmeal, granola and yogurt, coffee), which was very good. We were very pleased with our stays at the Raphael and will be staying there again when life takes us back to Kansas City!
