Never again Courtyard Dadeland We are frequent visitors to Miami, and have stayed in VRBOs, hotels, motels, and even other Courtyards. I waited too long to make a reservation (I guess everyone is traveling again?) so thought we’d just stay in Dadeland area — I mean, how bad could it be? Well, I’ve stayed in truck stop motels along the interstate in New Jersey with better amenities. First off, showed up at 4:45 pm — room wasn’t ready. They said maybe an hour. After some foot stomping on my part, it was ready in about so minutes. There were a pile of cars outside — no place to even pull up. I guess they had one guy working valet. By the way, I didn’t realize that the parking was going to cost as much as it does in Brickell. Behind the front desk there were piles of Amazon packages. It looked like a UPS store, not a hotel. Fitness Center? Yeah, right. Under construction. Advertised Bistro? Closed til further notice. Pool? I guess it’s here somewhere — no signs showing how to get there. The carpet when I got out of the elevator on my floor — absolutely filthy. That carpet reminded me of a Motel 6 outside of Detroit. Yes, seriously, that bad. Now for the room. Again, shades of freeway motel, but those are usually nicer than this. Luggage rack? Nope. Pen and little paper pad? Nope. Phone to call the front desk? Nope. Sign on the back of the door showing where the exits are in case of fire? Nope. Little plastic cups for water? Nope. Sugar, creamer, stirrer, napkin for coffee? Nope. Barely working refrigerator? Check. Motel style air conditioning unit blowing freezing air directly onto my med? Check. Courtyard by Marriott should be embarrassed to call this poor petty one of its own. I chose a Courtyard because for years they’ve been consistently good, and I’ve never worried about the quality. Won’t make that mistake again. Fool me once, Marriott, shame on you. If I had not made the reservation through a booking site that will charge me 100% cancellation for early departure, I’d be checking into another hotel today.

Overnight for location convenience I have been an owner and platinum elite member of Marriott for more than 14 years. I have stayed in Marriott’s and it’s fellow partner hotels all across the country. This hotel by far has fallen beyond short of my expectations which honestly are basic. To begin, the front desk staff were unprofessional towards my wife and toddler. We were given room keys that were programmed incorrectly so we couldn’t get into our room. Unacceptable As owners, we get the option to receive either reward points or complimentary parking regardless if there is only valet. Upon checking in to the hotel, the front desk told me that this specific Marriott doesn’t honor that policy for its owners. Not true. In addition, upon checking in I had wanted to pay in full with my credit card which is working just fine without any issues whatsoever. However, the staff at this hotel stated it doesn’t work. Also, not true as I had noticed a charge to the card then an immediate credit issued back to the card. So, I had used an alternative card from the same bank and no problems surprisingly. It’s no surprise and the facts are that both cards work fine. I definitely expected better than this for an owner and platinum elite member. Not only would I not recommend this hotel in any regards, I would encourage Marriott to educate their staff here better in the future. Honestly, I have received better service in hostels, motels and overnight low cost lodging. It’s an overall significant disappointment.

Great Location - Amazing Service We recently stayed her prior to our cruise vacation. The location was perfect walking distance to the Dadeland Mall and to a modern area with lots of restaurants. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the gentlemen that checked us in but he was fast efficient and full of infomation. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 was the valet parking. You must use them and at times we had to wait 15 min to get our car. Also, the pool only has 4 chairs. Other than that a great place

Great location in south Miami! My family and I stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions in the space of three weeks - two nights at the beginning of our month-long trip, one-night stopover a week later and a full week at the end of our vacation. The room we had each time was pleasant, light, airy and very comfortable. We didn't use the pool or gym but they looked great! Did they mention that the hotel is right next to a large Publix supermarket - how convenient! While you're there you can walk over to Shorty's Bar-B-Q restaurant (rustic but GREAT) and across RTE. 1 to a strip mall FILLED with restaurants - therw's an EVO's for those of us who want to eat healthy food once in a while! You can walk the other way and in 2 blocks you're at the Dadeland Mall - home of not just the Cheesecake Factory BUT also Earl's restaurant - too hard to resist. The hotel manager - Luis Canas, made us feel right at home from the minute we stepped into his hotel! There was nothing that was too much trouble for him to attend to and immediately sort out - what a pleasure it is to be in a hotel where you're treated so well! Because of his professionalism and diligence, we'll be staying there every time we're up in Miami (roughly x2/year). Melissa at the front desk was very helpful and her staff was so polite and professional! We really enjoyed our stay there!
