Best Wedding Venue in Key West About 40 of us from Indiana met at Barbary Beach House for the week to celebrate my wife and I getting married. Brittany Figueredo was amazing throughout the whole process. I was lucky enough to be her first event as she transitioned into the new roll and I wouldn't of wanted to have my wedding anywhere else. You can just tell when you're having a conversation with Brittany you're being taken care of! The hotel staff was the best no matter if we're talking the service at the pool, restaurant, or event/wedding. We loved the hotel so much we stayed an extra 2 days after we were supposed to check out. This hotel is definitely one of those that you know you'll be back to visit. I won't be staying anywhere else when visiting Key West.

It was just ok... I'll preface this by saying that there was nothing majorly wrong with the resort. This rating is based mainly on personal preference and what I feel was not a great value for the amount that we spent. We did have an issue with housekeeping not showing up after requested, but the hotel staff more than made up for it. Here's the rundown: Positives: -Room Layout - There was ample room for our family of 5 (with 3 teens). -Concierge - Shaun was super helpful and proactive about helping us find and book activities and letting us know what was going on at the resort -Resort fee includes large water toys (kayak, paddleboard, hobie cat) -Shuttle to downtown - My kids said their dinner from room service was very good -Room keys - You get a rubber bracelet with an electronic key in it. Very handy! -Free parking for resort guests Negatives: -Location - There is really not much to do on that side of town besides go to Smathers Beach, and it's not a great beach. It's about a 15 minute drive to downtown - Smell - There is a very strong sulfuric smell from the seaweed -AC - inadequate AC barely kept the room cool enough. -Noise - There was a wedding going on directly below our room the night we checked in. Very loud. Be aware that you may get a room adjacent to their events facility and the noise could be substantial. They said music would be off by 10. More like 10:30. We were ok with it because it was just one night, but if there had been more, it would have been miserable. - Inadequate hooks for hanging wet items - This is a beach resort. We had bathing suits, towels, clothing that got wet from being on the water all day. There was one hook in each bathroom. We had to improvise and drape items over counters and spread stuff out on the floor. There is plenty of wall space. Install more hooks. -One very small trash can for entire suite -Wifi - If you want decent internet, you have to pay $6 a day. Ridiculous for a place charging a $50/day resort fee -Resort fee does not include chairs/umbrellas for the beach. You have to rent those. -Shuttle to downtown - Often fills up and you have to wait to see if they have a driver available for the van or find your own way into town. We were left waiting downtown for 30+ minutes after the shuttle filled up. -Overall appearance and cleanliness of common areas (excluding lobby) were not great If I had it to do again, I would choose one of the downtown resorts with better access to the water, swimming, private beach with chairs, even if I had to pay more. This resort was not a place that I really wanted to spend any time at. Like I said, unless you want to wade at the shallow beach or go to Benihana, this side of town does not offer much. I felt like the amount we paid (average $750/night) was too much for what this resort offered.

Bachelorette Weekend My friends and I had an AMAZING time at Barbary Beach for my bachelorette weekend!!! All of the staff is fantastic! They went above and beyond our entire stay. The food and drinks were delicious. The resort is BEAUTIFUL! I highly recommend to any group coming down to Key West. _

Sip and Paint I loved the sip and paint. The instructor is great and had a beautiful art show. She went through steps slow enough for everyone to understand. Even if you don’t get it right away she will help you one on one. I recommend this to anyone who likes to chill and have a drink or two while enjoying some painting. Would do this again.
