Bypass if you can After spending 7 hours riding through thunderstorms in Florida, I was done for the day and grabbed the first hotel I could. From the exterior the hotel seemed fine. The desk clerk was very sweet and took pity on the wet mutt that wandered in to her lobby. That’s about where the positives end. The light on the door lock didn’t flash when I scanned the card. I tried calling the front desk from outside the room and got a recording that they didn’t have a phone for the hotel. I finally got in the room and it was dark. Only the bed lights worked in the front of the room. Being soaked, I got undressed and the carpet felt sticky on my feet. The security latch was broken off the door. I will definitely blow by this one on my next trip

Quality Inn Kingslans, on Edenfield Dr. Woken up twice by people entering our room At 2 and then again at 2:30 in the morning, we were woken up by people attempting to get into our room. They had a key and if it wasn't for our safety latch, they would have entered. Needless to say, we were woken up and terrified.... twice! We called the front desk but there wasn't any one there. Still very unsettled, my husband propped a chair in front of the door and tried to sleep which was challenging at best. The next morning, when we relayed the details to the manager, she apologized explaining that this rarely happens.... though she mentioned that it actually did happen a few times before... where they experienced computer failure incorrectly showing occupied rooms as currently vacant. She graciously refunded our room cost but the motel's responsibility for correcting this issue after it occured the first time is inexcusable!

Strongly Recommend Staying Elsewhere I booked this place for one night, using 10,000 of my Choice points. The front desk person, Jesse, was pleasant and professional, otherwise this place would be a zero. I went to my room, looked around, left, and paid $106 to stay at the Best Western Plus across the street. I called Jesse as a courtesy and she checked me out. Look, I get that not every property is stellar, but the room smelled and was completely worn and run down. As one example, their rooms have exterior entrance doors and light showed through 3 of the 4 sides of mine, as if the door had fluorescent tubes around it. I later called Choice's customer service and respectfully requested that they restore my 10,000 points because representing this place as a Choice property is misleading to say the least. It's not even close to what a reasonable Choice customer would expect to find. Customer Service tried to call the hotel twice to get their side but the manager "wasn't available." He or she never spoke with them but refused to authorize any kind of points refund. Customer Service offered 2,000 points. Yeah, no. We finally settled on 5,000 because I had no more time to waste on this mess. I will think long and hard before staying at a Choice property again and will definitely pay more attention to any negative reviews about their hotels. Choice should be ashamed to have their brand on this place.
