A hotel that will ruin your vacation and keep surprising you how to make it even worse I am frequent traveler and platinum/gold member with Marriott for years. Ilike to stay with Residence Inn whenever I could as it is my preferred place to stay. However, this hotel , if you could stay away from then DO. Otherwise, expect you assigned a suite not yours and your payment is attached to! , expect a guest walk on your room with his room key! , someone knock the door asking you are you leaving while you just checked in!, expect next day your room card not working ! On top of all of that , a manger whose is almost not in control of what happening and the only thing she is good at is giving excuses of what happened and promises things will be ok and will not repeated but then other surprises happened despite her assurance. Staying here to relax for 4 days with family not to mind such things that just ruined your vacation. So just avoid staying here and get another place and buy piece of mind to enjoy your time.

Average Residence Inn This was a nice place to stay during the pandemic because all rooms had an entrance from the outside. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy. I have allergies and had bad attacks while in the room. Obviously, they were dusty and the rooms could have been cleaner. They only clean the rooms once a week, yet were not enforcing masks in public places. The place could use an upgrade. It was fine, but nothing more.

Great Family Suites The family suites are huge with 2 bathrooms and lots of space, clean, and comfy beds. The pool area is nothing special. The two hot tubs were nice just don't look too closely at the dirt floating inside, LOL. Andrew at the front desk was rude and unhelpful, but Noelia was awesome.

Oldie but not goodie any more!! I used to stay in Residence Inn's locations very often while traveling with my family thought the Country and normaly it was an afordable, good enough experience. This time in La Jolla, we spent 6 terrible nights WITH NO ROOM CLEANING at all!! You do not look for style or decor in those kind of hotels, but the minimum you expect is a clean place to stay, specially now! I think we left the room cleaner than when we found it. When we complained at the front desk, they told us that because of the pandemic, they were short of personel, while the place was as full as it could ever be. Furniture is ugly and not at it's best. Also, the pick up breakfast place, was unprepared and absolutely unatractive. The food was soaked in ice or dry and old. There has been several months to adjust your offer and service!! All of us had!! NEVER GOING BACK to a RI again.
