An excellent stay We had a great stay at the Hampton Inn in Lafayette, Indiana. Efficient check-in with friendly staff, a clean comfortable room and an excellent complimentary breakfast with waffles, scrambled eggs, kielbasa, fresh fruit etc. We definitely recommend this hotel!

An old, tired, and neglected hotel An old, tried, long-neglected Hampton Inn that is in desperate need of a major renovation. It feels like the Hilton corporate has forgotten about this property or perhaps they just gave it up and are watching its slow death to be razed and replaced with a new generation Hampton Inn with those colorful strips on bedroom walls and funky colored desk lamps. Depressing lighting in the hallways, the metal doors of guest rooms that was a thing in the 80s, the stale smell that hits you in the face when you enter your room and an awkwardly designed lobby/breakfast area all work together to unwelcome you to the hotel. The bedding is clean but then this should be a low bar for a Hampton Inn. Limited drawer/storage space in the room makes it very difficult to unpack if one is staying for more than a night. Breakfast choices and quality is one of the worst I have ever had at any Hampton Inn. There were just a few slices of bread and one (yes one, not two, just one) stale english muffin in the bakery drawer. It felt like they were trying to stretch one last several days old Wonder Bread bag, one last cup of from-powder-scrambled eggs and the last box of cereal cups for an entire breakfast session. Coffee and hot water tanks were not attended to. Hot water was luke warm at best and smelled like coffee. The only pleasant experience I had was a few minutes of interaction I had with the front desk staff Amber. This, my fellow traveler, is one of those hotels with a number in their names disguised as a Hampton Inn, There are several hotels within a half-mile radius, some of which are other Hilton brands. I would recommend you pick one of those.

Could not have asked for a better experience! Sarah, at the front desk made my dad's stay perfect! We requested an early check-in so he could get a nap between graduation events. He is 80, mom passed 3 weeks before. She not only got him a room, she upgraded him and put him on 1st floor as he also has a hip replacement coming up.

nice place to stay Nice soft beds (although mine squeaked) nice to have the toiletries in the shower instead of tiny bottles, plenty of places nearby to eat. My only disappointment was that I wasn't greeted as a Hilton Honors member and given my water and snack. I was in a hurry so I didn't bring it up and I didn't get an email later from Hilton asking me about the stay.

Reasons to keep coming back Our group continues to make this Hampton Inn our home base for an annual golf trip. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is really good and the hotel is well maintained. The location is also very convenient.
