Royal Lahaina We found this place through a Costco travel package pretty last minute and decided to go for it. What a win! The location was everything we could have asked for with an awesome package. Included a full breakfast and resort credit daily that could be used on the restaurant or ice cream shop or even the beach supplies. The staff was incredibly friendly and after visiting several beaches on the island (looking for the best one), we always preferred Ka’anapali which is the beach that this resort is on! Clean sands, calm waters and not busy at all. You can access two pools and the ocean within just a few feet. It was truly glorious! Plus free mineral sunscreen here! Royal Lahaina was a super fun, relaxing time away! There was also a complimentary shuttle that comes every 20 mins and can take you to the shopping center Whalers Village down the road if you want to shop until you drop! Would definitely recommend this place!!!

June Royal Lahaina trip What a hidden gem of a hotel. The beach is not crowded and slammed with tourists. From where I saw, the outdoor bar is the only one that’s literally 10 steps away from the sand. I’m coming back!!

Overall great We booked our stay with the Riveria package and were very happy with all it included. Breakfast was extensive with a lot of choices. The Luau was delightful. Getting leis on the way in was a nice surprise and treat. We were super big fans of the food on the buffet, but there were a lot of options and many others enjoyed it. (We're not big fans of fish which were all the main courses). We loved loved loved Branches. The music and setting is incredible. The beach is steps away and really nice. The pools were standard and average but kept nice and clean. Housekeeping did great. Staff were always polite and kind. We did try the main restaurant on site for dinner and were sadly very disappointed. The 'garlic noodles' which I ordered were very oily and while I 'love' garlic the flavor of it was extremely overpowering making it impossible to taste anything but that. My husband's chicken marsala lacked a lot of flavor and the sauce was too thick, almost goopy. It's the one time that service was also really bad. We had to ask multiple times for things and it took an hour after our order for food to be brought. (They weren't super busy and somehow the table next to us got their appetizers and dinner and finished them before we got ours). We also tried "Scoops" on their property and enjoyed their ice cream and sandwiches. I trolley comes to the resort which will take you to multiple locations including Whalers Village. Our room was clean and housekeeping was great. Some of the furniture was a bit run down (scratches and worn on edges) but it didn't take away from our experience. We loved the Ocean Partial View as we could see the Ocean on one side and the beautiful hills on the other while sitting on the balcony. It was also perfectly positioned so we could listen to the music from "Branches" from our balcony. Overall a wonderful stay at a good price.

Nice place need to work on some things It was a lovely place. We stayed in a bungalow. We wanted the option to be able to cook food. Unfortunately, the refrigerator itself worked poorly. So we had to use the freezer as the refrigerator. Or the food would’ve spoiled. On the second night we started to get little tiny visitors with us. They were called cockroaches and we had very little food. There was no food on the counters no dirty dishes. We are extremely clean and it was one of the reasons I was able to see it and kill it. So after that day, I decided to keep an eye out and when we made breakfast, I noticed there was a little hole under the sink and that’s where they were getting into the kitchen. So I took a bowl filled it with water and soap and put it right by the hole and from then on they all died in the little tiny bowl of water. I even took a picture and I’ll upload it and I showed the people at the counter on checkout. The day before we left, we had a notice that the bug spray people were going to come. I even showed him and after he sprayed, he said, let the manager know if any more come, and oddly enough more came after he sprayed. The access to the beach was awesome. They have a beautiful tree and music every night called the branches. That was fantastic. There was a valet person that was awesome and friendly. Most people were friendly. There was one activity guy who was tall and Burleigh he was completely rude and not friendly at all with anybody. He acted like he hated all visitors to Hawaii and you were putting him out if you even asked any questions. Other than that, most everybody was friendly. The food was OK for the most part there breakfast buffet was good, but the food was always warm not that hot and there were flies around it a lot. So we did tend to eat out at other places and then we tended to make our breakfast in our room. The pools were clean daily, but there was a lot of sand and dirt and debris from the winds in the pools and I never saw one person clean them throughout the day. Other than that, it was a very nice place and it was enjoyable.
