BEST WESTERN PREMIER HOTEL LAM

Return Visit I stayed at the Hotel Sonnenhof for three nights with a friend in March 2023. It was our second stay and I wrote a review last year, so just a few observations on things that have or haven’t changed. We had room 101 in the main building this time, which was a little more spacious than the one we had last year. It was more nicely decorated as well. A tea station for the room could have been ordered free of charge, as I found out from the information booklet, which I didn’t read last year. The station might have been available then. The slippers that were provided last year had been exchanged for flip-flops, which we thought was much more convenient. Several new saunas have been added to the spa area as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and other features. Free drinks have also been made available. The sauna area is truly fantastic now! The food was a little better last year, though it was still very good. Dinner again was a four-course sit-down meal on two days plus a salad bar to start with and a cheese buffet for those who could still manage at the end of the meal (I couldn’t). It was buffet style the third evening. The service, too, was still excellent, overall. We did notice that some of the servers in the restaurant were a little out of their depth at times, though, particularly on the Thursday (day of our arrival). We were quite surprised when we were served the soup before the first course and were about to complain to the head waiter when the first course was brought. It was rather funny, actually. The server wanted to place the plates on our table next to the soup but was stopped by the mortified looking head waiter. We also noticed that the people who had ordered the fish weren’t given fish knives on the Thursday. I had the fish on Friday and did get a fish knife, but the regular knife wasn’t removed. In addition, my friend had the pasta instead of the soup and wasn’t given an extra knife and fork instead of the spoon. And one last remark: the cutlery was placed on the table in the wrong order two days in a row. None of this was a big deal, of course, but I expected a little more attention to detail after our fantastic experience last year. Those are just a few minor points of criticism, though. We again had a fantastic time at this exceptional hotel. We will be back!

Excellent! I stayed at the Hotel Sonnenhof for three nights with two friends in February 2022. We were there for a health weekend that included half-day courses in muscle relaxation and aquagym. We had a fantastic time! The hotel far exceeded our expectations. We had rooms 224 and 228 in the main building. The rooms weren’t that great. They were somewhat cramped and the furniture was functional and a little old fashioned. There was no tea/coffee maker und turning on the heating involved crawling under the desk, which was a little odd. There was no A/C, either, which we didn’t mind as we were there in winter. Apart from this, the rooms were well-equipped and comfortable. They were spotlessly clean, as were the bathrooms. A good range of toiletries were provided. Everything else at the hotel was great. We spent hours every day in the saunas and swimming pools. There are two outdoor pools and an indoor pool as well as a big jacuzzi, three saunas and two steam baths. We were particularly impressed with the infinity pool and greatly enjoyed swimming in the warm water with a spectacular view of the mountains. There were quite a number of relaxation rooms as well with many comfortable loungers. Fresh pool towels were delivered to our rooms daily and there were bathrobes to use in the pool area as well. All three of us booked massages, too, which were very good though rather expensive. The food was amazing! We were on half board. Breakfast was buffet style and comprised a lot of hot and cold options, egg dishes made to order, lots of fresh fruit and much more, even sparkling wine and vodka. Everything was fresh and of excellent quality. What really blew us away were the dinners, though. They were four-course sit-down meals with two starters, two second courses, and three main courses (meat, fish and vegetarian) to choose from. There was no choice of dessert, but it always consisted of several different items. There was a cheese and ice dream buffet, too, as a fifth course. The quality of the food, the way it was prepared and presented – everything was top-notch! The cocktails at the bar were good as well, if a bit pricey. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make the guests comfortable. The service was extremely attentive throughout the hotel. We all felt pampered and very much at home! Many of the people in our courses had been to the hotel several times before and we, too, are planning to return next year. It was definitely the best German hotel I have ever stayed at with the best service and the best pool and sauna area. The food was some of the best I have had at any hotel the world over. Thumbs up!

Great weekend escape The hotel is great for a weekend escape. It has an outside and inside swimming pools with warm water as well as a few saunas. The food was delicious and every room had a dedicated table for breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. So you don’t have to search by yourself a free place to sit. The cocktails at the lounge was also very good. We’re planning to go back at the winter.

Exelent stay Spa and several pools, very nice place to spend a week, good food all day around, much to choose between. Friendly staf. Tennis and mini-golf and good walkeing in the mountins. Nice nature. Recomend the hotel!
