Wonderful All Around We spent four nights at the JW Marriott and loved it. We are all fully vaccinated yet we didn’t want to be around swarms of people at a hotel on the strip so we chose the JW. A few notes below: 1. We stayed in the Palm Tower which is close to the pool. Highly recommend it. 2. Elevators are super fast and you don’t have to wait which for us makes or breaks a vacation. I’m not kidding. 3. Two gyms to choose from but the one in the spa tower isn’t open every day. 4. Sundry shop is nice but only open until 8p. Wish there were more home accents (ornaments) to choose from. 5. Casino area isn’t crowded which is so nice. Table games are reasonably priced. However, smoking is permitted which is a turn off. 6. Some restaurants are closed so check ahead and make reservations ahead of time. 7. We had resort credits which were awesome! Applied to food and beverages which can add up. 8. Food is fresh and reasonably priced. Especially Earl Grey Cafe which has delicious breakfast foods. It is a 24 hour cafe with fast service with a smile. 9. We never had to wait. For anything. No lines at restaurants, pool area, Starbucks, etc. 10. The pool…beautiful! And with Covid, we felt safe. Seeing pools on the strip when we visited for the day gave me a mini panic attack. So many people which was so upsetting. The JW was beyond relaxing and socially distanced. 11. Getting a cab js Impossible unless you call a company yourself. Save some time and money and use Uber. All our Uber divers were wonderful. Prompt, professional and personable. Housekeeping does not clean rooms daily. Honestly it didn’t bother us. We called every am for towels and soap and within 20 minutes it arrived. I’ve read and heard horror stories about lack of service, customer satisfaction is all aspects of hospitality die to Covid and lack of staff. We didn’t notice it at the Marriott. We had the most pleasant experience. Many have said the rooms are dated. Not sure I agree with that. The fixtures are not sleek and modern but neither is the hotel. It is clean, welcoming and relaxing.

I would go back, but not to casino. To start, the casino was much too smoky, bu I suppose they all are. We only went to one other. I never found my favorite slot machines. Too many were video poker and multi-lines. Wanted Old School ones like sevens, wheel, etc. The hotel was lovely and my room was spacious and clean, except for coffee maker. I liked the bed and linens very much!

Disappointment after Disappointment We stayed here for the nice pool but learned upon arrival that it is only open to 5pm. It is 115 and no pool? The hotel does not offer any indoor activities than gambling, so we had to entertain the kids every night. We would take them to Red Rocks Resort as they had an arcade, bowling, food court and 16 theater movie theater. We twice tried to eat at The Hawthorn but both times ended up leaving. The first time we left after waiting for someone to take our drink order for 25 minutes in a half empty restaurant. The 2nd time two of us adults arrived again to a half empty restaurant at 8:15pm and were told by the manager they close at 9. They refused service as we wouldn’t get “the full experience”. It is definitely dated and nothing special about it,

Needs Remodeling I was very excited to stay here because it was my first resort stay since Covid. The hotel is old and needs remodeling and TLC. The SPA tower smells of cigarette smoke so we asked to be moved to the Palms tower—this was much better. We asked to be as far away from the casino. We ate all breakfasts at the 24 Hour restaurant next to the casino. The food was good and fresh and the service friendly. The pool closes at 5 pm so we were not able to use it. They also charge a $39 resort fee per day that was off-set by a $20 food and beverage. If you don’t golf or can use the pool before 5 pm—what’s the point of the resort fee? We enjoyed the peace and quiet away from the strip. I hope they remodel soon before it’s too late and this property continues to deteriorate.

Amazing off strip resort This was a great vacation weekend. This is a great property for families. Hawthorn was great steaks, ok sides, great desert at Vegas steakhouse prices. All other good was typical resort food. Cocktails at the pool were made well. The pool is great for families. Caliber of guests were respectful. We upgraded to a two bedroom suite. This was a game changer. It’s a 2,000 sq fit apartment where the average room is 500 soft. The room had a wrap around balcony that overlooks the strip. The service is fantastic. Janice our house keeper was incredible. The valet staff was amazing. Lizette at Earl Grey made us feel special. In fact the entire team made us feel like they were here just for us. The only thing that may keep us from returning was the cigarette smoke. It permeates every square inch of the property. I could only gamble one evening because the smoke was too much to bear. I can’t believe in 2021 that many people smoke. I believe only a small fraction of the population still smokes. So why are they being catered to. I highly recommend having designated smoking areas. This property attracts better clientele than the strip and would benefit from this policy.
