Disappointing Disappointing. We had stayed here a few years ago when owned privately. It's a beautiful home in a great location. Second floor bedroom, king bed very nice and comfortable but a/c blew directly over the bed and it couldn't be redirected. Bathroom was across the hall and accessed by key which wasn't detailed in booking and was not what we would have chosen had we known. Breakfast was not provided as stated. Supposed to be an 8am-11am continental breakfast. We checked out at 8:15 leaving an empty dining room without fresh coffee or a person in sight. We won't be returning.

Ok, but somewhat disappointing. Website descriptions need updating. Lovely old house, great bathroom, and comfortable bed, even if noisy when you climb in! Very clean. But if you stay here, you may want to ask questions about the location of your room if you are concerned about stairs. It's important to ask how many flights of stairs you need to climb, as what was pictured in the description is a room with a four poster bed, which I would have thought was up one flight of stairs, at the most. We had to go up 2 narrow, steep flights of stairs to the top floor, getting all of our luggage up the stairs, as there is no staff on site to assist. I don't care about the poster bed, but would never have booked this room had I known where it was located. There are no luggage racks, so our suitcases are on the floor. 4 hangers and one drawer in a chest. No housekeeping unless requested. Tiny towels and no robes. A woman down the hall was very surprised she had to leave her room to get to her bathroom, going through public space. No mention of that on the website either. No wood burning fireplace in the room, as mentioned, although in June, we didn't care. I've emailed 3 times over the last couple of weeks with a question, but no response. I'm obviously spoiled and had expectations based on other bed and breakfasts and hotels I have stayed in.

Lovely room, great location The Dewey was a perfect place in our Lenox neighborhood for family visitors who came for Christmas. No continental breakfast on site, but Keurig machines are available in the main house kitchen. In-room coffee makers would be a great addition! Room 12 in the Carriage House is lovely.

Luxurious stay in a beautiful room We stayed in such a beautiful and comfortable room! (#4). The bed was soooo comfy, linens were perfect. The room was large, with big windows. Bathroom was also large with a fantastic shower. Tv had lots of channels. Towels were plush. It was a very luxurious stay!

Would have been five stars except..... We booked two rooms for one night. First, the positive: very comfy bed and pillows, very clean and tidy, nice common room, quiet, nice proximity to Stockbridge, cute town, ease of booking and checking in, good reminder texts, ease of checking out. And next, the challenges to address: our TVs remotes didn't align with the instructions left in the room so they wouldn't work, our room temperature was very hot and couldn't be adjusted, staff didn't respond to my multiple attempts to communicate about the heat via the text number they provided, the wall fan didn't work, breakfast was unimpressive (sugary granola, sugary yogurt, blueberries, plastic-wrapped sweet rolls, bread to toast). If the Dewey will provide human contact during the stay and upgrade their breakfast (and coffee), they'll have an outstanding business. I hope they'll do just that, and I'll stay there again.
