Clean, safe, nice breakfast, great value! I plan to stay here every time I come through! A big"thank you" to staff and owners fo I booked online the same day as my stay. Easy to book. When I arrived the parking area looked very safe. Kris, who was working the front desk, was very sweet and kind. I am 70 and was traveling alone. I felt quite safe staying here! I met the manager (owner?) the next morning and he was also very kind and helpful.

Godawful Place Our stay at Guest House in Lexington, KY, was one of the worst I've ever had anywhere. I actually paid over $40 more for that room than others that were nicer and in better locations in Lexington. Here are a few of the problems we had: * Our room stank. It smelled vaguely moldy as if the air conditioner hadn't been cleaned in a while. The whole room felt clammy. * The beds were unpleasantly hard, and the pillows stank. * The furnishings in the room were dingy and ill-kept with multiple scratches. * We had no television channel card, and the desk clerk couldn't find one to leave with us! He asked what channel we wanted and knocked on the door to tell us which number that channel was. * The bathroom badly needs caulking. The places where the bathroom fixtures joined the walls and floors were black with mold. * After we arrived, and upset at the state of the room, we sat on the bed to look at other choices of hotels in the area. Because the wi-fi was so slow, it took forever, so it was an hour later when I went to the desk to ask for a refund. The guy at the desk was combative and claimed not to know how to complete a refund. Then he changed his tune and said since it had been almost an hour since we checked in, he wouldn't give us a refund anyway. He could check us out and give us an email address to apply to for a refund, but he couldn't execute a refund himself. I would not return to one of these hotels if it meant free shelter from sleeping in my car. It really is execrable.

Unpleasant if you have to stay any length of time in the room The smell when you enter the room is overwhelming… old, dirty smoke smell and the windows don’t open. Holes in the curtains- safe didn’t work. Mold in the grout. Breakfast included moldy bagels… this not the Ritz and you get what you pay for… lesson learned

Well it's not the Ritz. Clean but nothing to brag about. We arrived and the girl behind the counter decided to spit her ice cubes in a cup and not say excuse me. Then our safe was locked so we asked if it could be opened and she said she didn't know but we could try asking. Well she asked the maintenance man Richard who did give it a good try but he was not able to open it. The next day Richard was at the front desk. Apparently he wears many hats. The curtain on the window was ripped and the room smelled of smoke. Unfortunately there was no way to open the windows to air it out. There was a little bit of mold on the grout of the bathroom floor by the tub. The second day there instead of the cleaning lady coming in some man asked if we needed something when we opened the door to leave and then just handed us some towels so when we came back to the room later all the wet towels were still on the floor. Breakfast was typical Continental but my bagel had a bit of mold on it. OK, I know bagels can mold quickly. All in all the room was actually clean. If nothing else we had plenty of laughs. Oh, by the way, the pool was nice and warm but be sure to bring your own towel because there's are very small.

Lukewarm shower, no elevator It was just ok in that (a) the shower never got warmer than lukewarm and (b) there was no elevator to the 2nd floor so we had to carry a bike and a bunch of luggage upstairs. Person behind the desk was nice, it was clean, beds were fine, wifi slightly better than normal. A one-star motel.
