Felt like staying with family! My daughter’s cheer team was in town for a competition and it was our first out of town trip. It was last weekend and I am still thinking about how nice we were treated by the staff and housekeeping. For starters, each room, with 3-4 girls had a laundry basket with extra towels and washcloths when we walked in, they also allowed the coaches to decorate the rooms for the team. The rooms were perfect, we were able to have a breakfast room, and a dinner room during the weekend, and we were always greeted by the staff when we went anywhere. When we came back after the competition, the woman at the front desk asked how we did and when I said we won, all three teams, she was so excited. I know there were other guests there, but we had girls from 5-14 and they were all different levels of excitement. The hotel took what could have been a very stressful time (for the parents) and made it fun. Thank you Sonesta for the most excellent weekend.

skip this place and its junk fee for parking! hotel is ok. clean. convenient to northwest part of lake county. I was flabbergasted to learn the hotel charges a $5.30 parking fee. what? this place is in an industrial park with acres and acres of space. This is nothing but a junk fee that goes straight to the bottom line -- and the customer can do nothing but pay it, unless of course, the customer has walked to the place (unlikely) or bikes in and "parks" his/her bike in the "suite"). so properly listed, it's sonesta simply parking fee ripoff suites

Nice hotel, bad parking We stayed here for one night the weekend of Jan 26th 2024 for a dog show. We checked in at 230 and were greeted by Delaney. She was the sweetest and most helpful employee at the hotel. during our stay if we needed anything, we would go the the front desk and Delaney would have us helped in a flash. We didn't use the 24 hour market but it wast fully stocked. You could still get drinks, there were some micowave meals and frozen treats, The rooms were clean and comfortable. The full size kitchen was stocked nicely and there was anything you needed to make a meal in. The wifi is very slow, more suitable for just surfing the web. If you wanted to stream anything you are out of luck as it's so slow. The biggest drawback ( even though it's not much ) is that they charge for parking. We payed $5 to park for one night.. now this isn't downtown Chicago. Parking should be included with your stay. We may or may not stay here again when we come back next year

Shelter from the cold. I usually do not take the time to write reviews, however I do take the time to read them. Many reviews are from people with a bone to pick over something so small that I am embarrassed for them after reading what they have written. Sometimes, there are legitimate concerns or issues, and those reviews are understandable. Other reviews have been direct, to the point, fair, and informative. It is easy to decern between serious reviews and the vengeful. I have based many decisions on the reviews of others. This all being said, I decided to take the time to write a review of my stay at the Sonesta Simply Suites in Libertyville, Il. To set the stage, I live in an older home. The heat is hot water base board heating. Water is well and septic. On February 21-22 a winter storm moved through the Midwest and my area was hit with freezing rain which turned into bitter cold, and ice coated everything. Next came the wide spread power outage. For me, this of course meant no power, no heat (gas fired but electronically controlled), and water for a limited time only (once pressure tank is depleted, that is it.) The first night I decided to stay at home and tough it out. It was cold, unpleasant, and aggravating. Connected a small generator to refrigerator, small electric heaters, and a lamp. This setup may work well if you are living in a tent or a shed, but for an entire house....I had to actually laugh at my own efforts....except for the refrigerator, my effort was futile. Day two was colder than day one, but I was able to turn the oven on and leave the door open for a bit once I hooked it to generator. (Gas with electronic controls) Eventually I had enough and decided to get something to eat and find a place to stay. Most hotels in the area were at capacity, filled with people in the same situation as myself. I came across the Sonesta Simply Suites and gave them a call. This was around 9pm in the evening. I was informed that they had rooms available. I showed up at 10:30pm and the woman working the front desk remembered our phone conversation and could not have been kinder or more helpful. In a matter of minutes, I was headed to my room on the third floor. My room was spotless, organized and a pleasant surprise. Small kitchen stocked with anything one would need to cook if need be. Bathroom was perfect, not even a speck of dirt or anything to complain about. Bed was comfortable, with nice pillows and crispy clean linens. The room was perfect. Best of all...it had heat! On the main floor they have a stocked "store," laundry area, and small gym. Again, in perfect order and very clean. If you want something from the store, you take what you want, and then notify the front desk. They have an automated coffee machine, which I decided to use. Made my coffee, and went to the front desk to let them know. By this time a shift change had taken place, and a different woman was working. She informed that the coffee was free and told me if there was anything I needed during my stay to not hesitate to let them know. Could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I went back to my room (which did have its own coffee maker), turned on the tv and thought about how lucky I was to have found this place. Eventually I had a good night's sleep and woke the following morning feeling like a new man. In haste, I just trough a bunch of stuff in a duffle bag the night before. I was only planning on staying one night, but I decided to make it two being that the power was not due to be back on for another day or so. Upon leaving my room, there was another woman in the hall who greeted me and asked if I was leaving. I told her of my situation, and that I need to return home for a bit to check on things, but I would be returning for another night's stay. She said not to worry, that she would handle the paperwork herself, and issue me new keys upon my return. I returned home to find that the power had been restored. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I was actually looking forward to returning to the Sonesta. All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, the cleanliness, and the attention to detail. I had interaction with three different employees, and they could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Not a hint of bad attitude or negativity. Would I stay there again or recommend others to do the same......ABSOLUTLEY! Thank you to Sonesta and to the kind staff for making a bad situation on my end not seem so bad, and for doing your job in a more than professional manner........while being kind on top of it. Sincerely, Bob Narcisi ( Date of stay 2-23-23)

Excellent choice to stay This is my first time staying at a Sonesta suites and it is absolutely amazing so far I was able to arrive and the receptionist was able to tell me about the area since I was new to it and she told me everything that I would need to know about the room including where my clean dishes were and who to reach out to if I needed any help. They also have a 24 hour gym and laundry center both of which are free! The halls are quiet and even though it is pet friendly all the pets are very respectful and the noise level is to a minimum. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff is super helpful which makes this an excellent choice for anyone staying.
