Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Livingston by IHG

Not up to Holiday Inn standards We stopped here after a long day of driving. The hotel pickings are slim in this area, and we went with a name brand. While the staff were friendly, the property is cheaply constructed and quite run down. The bath towels were skimpy and threadbare, and the water in the shower was lukewarm. We didn't eat breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

Disappointing due to lack of cleanliness Very disappointing stay. Had hoped for more since reading that they were doing remodeling. The employees were nice, but the room was dirty. The carpet could not have been vacuumed as it was filthy. There was no shampoo or shower gel in the dispensers, and the previous customer’s soap was still in the shower. The towels were frayed and ragged, and there was no bath mat. The furniture was dusty and even the window seal was dirty. Even my sheets were filthy where my feet touched them because the carpet was so dirty. Had it not been so late and had I not been so exhausted I would have asked to change rooms.

Renovations Currently we are under renovation and working very hard to get the job done and bring the hotel back up to standard. We try to make sure that the contractors keep the halls clear and clean. During this process we are going to have issues and we are working hard to keep the problems minimal. The power supply on the sliding door is out and the part has been ordered. Things breakdown and we ask that guests have understanding and patience. Life is not perfect and doing renovations and trying to keep guests happy is not easy either. Please be patient and when it is done we hope you will like the new look

PASS THIS ONE BY This place should either close while under construction or face a serious legal action. The conditions on this day are a danger to guest's health and safety. This is HI. In the past, usually pretty dependable.

Don’t waste your money I don’t recommend staying here. First, the front desk staff member was welcoming but the possibility of a good stay all ended there. Walking in you can tell it is dated, the elevator doesn’t close all of the way, carpets are stained, the window curtains had a huge stain at the bottom, the couch had a stain in it, the desk wobbled terribly, the shower curtain rod was about to come out of the wall, the towel bar was about to fall into itself, the walls are just destroyed and just to nitpick on this next one - something as easy to fix as the lamp shade was crooked. I did smell stale cigarette smoke too. I stayed in the room for less than an hour while I looked for another hotel in the area and then I checked out. The front desk asked me if I wanted to try another room but I had made up my mind. I should have known something was wrong with this place when I saw a piece of plywood leaning against the hotel near the front door and a light flickering quite badly - it just looks terrible! During my checkout, the staff member kept writing my comments on a book that had plenty on it from other guests. I sure hope these comments aren’t going in the trash because this place needs help. This Holiday Inn and one prior just gave me a reason to not use one ever again.
