The Lexmar Dodger Stadium Hollywood

Lexmar Hotel Wouldn’t stay there. Rooms shown on website are not the rooms there. Run down MOTEL in a very sketchy neighborhood. Parking lot has maybe 6 parking spaces. Save yourself major problems and spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else. Don’t recommend

OK Motel in Less than OK Neighborhood On the positive side, the rooms, which are basic motel rooms, and baths have been nicely renovated and are clean. Housekeeping is good and on-site parking is free. On the negative side, expect significant noise from Alvarado St throughout the night and from the room aircon, which in my room was fitful at best. More important, this is a seedy section of Echo Park, populated by auto repair shops, vacant storefronts, a taxi depot, etc. You must be buzzed into the lobby; if there is already a client there you'll need to stand on the sidewalk with your luggage until they leave; only 1 allowed at a time. Once you enter you'll be greeted by an indifferent clerk behind bulletproof glass. There is no coffee in the room or lobby. There is a wonderful restaurant about 150 m north toward Sunset (the Larchmont Bungalow Cafe) but most of the notable restaurants on west Sunset are at least a mile away and likely not a walk to try after dark.

Basic, Clean & Reasonable This is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, especially in LA, which can be challenging. I thanked the maid profusely for this. The location is also convenient to Silverlake although I think technically on the edge of Echo Park. The TV works as does the AC and the wifi… once you figure out connecting via a server address – which they didn’t explain well the first night and cost me in roaming charges. It’s on the south end of Sunset near the highway entrance so it’s busy. The ‘woosh’ of traffic was bearable. The cost was also on the very low end for LA, so, good value if lacking in other charms. There’s a ‘Reserve’ Starbucks plus a bank and gas station around the corner too, which makes up somewhat for the lack of coffee on site.

A good place to spend the night. Pro: the hotel was close to where I wanted to be. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings were new and of good quality. Con: I was visiting family and the no visitors allowed in rooms policy was a bother. The view out the back window was uninspiring.

I do not have words to depict the complete satisfaction with scenery of place elevated by magical people on all level from manager desk lady to cleaning personal making my stay perfect I have travel all over the world but it’s people who makes this place so warm so excellent Thank you!
