Clean, safe, hip hotel Clean, hip, good location in DTLA with easy access to express ways. Safety and cleanliness protocols were clearly posted throughout the property and were followed by staff and most guests. Check in and mobile key were streamlined and front desk staff were professional and polite. Executive suite was spacious and clean with good lighting throughout. We had a half bath which we always appreciate. Sofa bed was easy to use, clean and actually comfortable per our kids. Housekeeping was on point and conducted in a timely and efficient manner. View of the Staples center, LA live and pool at night were beautifully lit up. Adjacent and connected to the Ritz Carlton. Got to use the Ritz pool on our first night since the JW pool was closed for an evening dinner and a movie event. Illy coffee in the lobby was excellent and our children enjoyed the continental breakfast Buffett. Restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. Valet parking was efficient and easy to use. There’s an impressive collection of expensive cars that we got a chance to admire on our way out each time. Would stay again.

Excellent Hotel at the Staple Center Great hotel. Spacious clean room and bathroom, pool, and lobby restaurant (with buffet breakfast). Great customer service. Right in the heart downtown at Staple Center, Microsoft Theater, LA Conv Center, etc. Many great restaurants in walking distance. Of course with the location, hotel is expensive/pricey but maybe worth it depending on your taste. Hotel is safe, you can't enter at night without showing key.

Appalling state The hotel is clearly living off its JWM name but is completely unworthy of it. Ok, Covid is still on but there are no excuses for the awful state of its rooms. Room carpets are dirty beige with an emphasis on the first word (see photos). Sofa in the room would not pass muster in a Motel 6 (photo). Bathroom had no shaving mirror. The coffee table was designed to injure you if you accidentally stubbed your toe.. etc. Add to that the Gym is open from 7am despite having keyless entry and it being devoid of staff. Since when did a gym with no staff having opening hours????

Worst experience ever This has been our worst Marriott, no, hotel experience ever… We’ve been staying in this hotel for 3 nights. We are Marriott Gold members and indicated in advance that we’d like to check-in early, at 11 am. Also, we’ve asked for a quiet room on the highest floor. After arriving, the woman at the first desk told us that there is no option for early check-in, we won’t be able to get our room before 4 pm… We were hanging around in the lobby for about 2 hours…exhausted and waiting for any notice from the hotel that we can move into our room some sooner… After flying from another state, no options to change clothes or to refresh, this was duper disappointing. (BDW, we tried to contact the management via the application on Marriott’s website, but kept getting the message that the app is not functioning…) After about 2 hours we got a text that our room was ready. We moved into our room, and got shocked … We got a room on the 2’nd floor from the six, just above the bar. The room was super outdated, the bathroom looked like a public bathroom (issues on the bathtub fixed with duck tapes), and thanks to the adjacent door to the neighboring room, we heard every single word, conversation and noise of the people next door. The phone was only working in speaker mode, the legs of the ottoman’s were broken. There was no indoor dining menu (probably because of Covid), so we checked the hotel’s website. The menu published online was not even close to reality…way less options, technically, no options at all. We finally ordered two burgers…as it turned out for $30 each… without any customization options and way subpar compared to the price. There was no cleaning for the 3 days of our stay, so we place our trash in front of the door, after bugs started appearing in the room. Last morning we’ve asked the front desk to order a taxi for us and they have refused… but offered a phone number we can call. Overall, for $600+ per night, this was very disappointing and ridiculous. Way subpar to Marriott. We love Marriott and after staying at Marriott in many different countries all over the word we believe this disappointing experience is only specific to this place, not to Marriott in general. We’ve complained to the hotel management, but we only got a super general response; the same they responded to many other guests who complained online over the past couple of years. For sure, we will never ever stay at this place again… This has been our very first time in LA and we regret that we couldn’t spend more time researching our accommodation in advance… Obviously, we would have never ever stayed at this hotel...

Staff was super friendly and helpful! Felt clean! Fun hotel in a fun place, just a great place to stay! I had such a nice stay here! After a long week of work I just needed some good rest, I requested a quiet room and they gave me an absolutely silent room far away from others so I was VERY happy The pool was fabulous, the showers were very nice; the staff were very friendly and they went above and beyond to help make my stay great. My one qualm was that the hotel was a little hot, the lobby was kind of hot and my room was cool; but it never got super cold like how I usually like to sleep; it only went down to like 67° ish which wasn’t the end of the world; and is probably comfortable for most people; I just like to sleep around 64°; however It didn’t really bother me as much as I thought, I still slept really well b/c the beds are fantastic too. Overall great job I would give 4.7 stars or 9/10 but there’s no option for that and 4 seemed a little low lol; fantastic hotel!
