POT HOLE TEL Needs thorough cleaning and update. It was a place to rest our head for a few hours before getting on the road. The website says 24 hour front desk, but they are not. We got a call, at least they called, at 11:30 pm that said they close at midnight. He did wait 5 minutes after for us, which is when I said we would arrive. We were very tired and got a good few hours of sleep. The tiny lobby looks like storage and you can't go in, Business is conducting through the window. Everything seemed manual, wrote down on paper ID and credit card information. No breakfast there, continental or otherwise. Didn't shower, didn't feel comfortable enough. Needs updating and thorough cleaning for sure. Would not stay here again in the current condition of this motel.

AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHEATED & ABUSED (Bless those who like abuse, but I’m just not into it.) THIS CHARMER YELLED, TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE AND ALSO FOR “INCIDENTALS”. WHEN I ASKED FOR EXPLANATIONS HE THREATENED ME. HE REFUSED TO ISSUE A REFUND. THEN HE CALLED THE POLICE ON ME BECAUSE I TOOK A PHOTO OF MY CARD AND DRIVERS LICENSE. HE REFUSED TO CHECK ME IN OR SUPPLY A ROOM.

I made a same-day reservation with the arrival time of midnight. I arrived at 12:06 to find only 3 cars in the parking lot of a property that is next door to a hotel that was packed. I’m pretty sure the charmer is why no one wants to be here. It alerted me to what the charmer might do because of economic distress. The charmer started yelling that I had missed check-in hours, even though the e-commerce options allowed check-in until 2 AM. There is no property disclaimer about a check-in time….so customers would need to be mind-readers to know this. He told me there would be an additional room night because I arrived on the next day. Then he asked for a credit card for “incidentals”. I asked what those would be and he repeated “incidentals” several times. I pushed because he had already told me he might charge me for another night. I took the photo of my card and license and he really lost it then….saying it is agains the law to take photos. It is not against the law and I would not have done it except that I needed to document the card provision.

He told me he called the police and shut the after-hours window. In a little while, Officer Ramirez of the Los Banos Police Department arrived. Phone number: 209-827-7070. He said I could pursue a civil case against the charmer but that since I had been refused check-in that the charmer asked me to leave. So I did.

Agoda is at fault here too. They promised an immediate refund or to find me a new room. I wanted another room. They never called.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY!!! Please don't even think about staying at this property! Management is horrible, does not understand the first thing about customer service. We checked into our room and the place was a dump, we were booked for 3 nights. There was no lock on the door, it was completely broken off. We immediately requested a new room when we told him and he didn't think the lock was a big deal. We got a second room and after driving all day, we were exhausted. It smelled clean - or at least that was what I was telling myself because of the heavy scent of chemicals in the room but again, another dump. The door casings were filthy, the bathroom, filthy. The window ledge looked like it had never seen a dust rag, hair stuck to the floor, dirty walls and doors - repairs looked like a child tried to fix it. We had to stay the night because we were in town for a funeral and we're able to get into the hotel we really wanted. We thought 'we're just going to sleep here'. Don't ever think that! I was afraid to use the shower for fear of how filthy the place was. The next day, we were with family and decided we were going to cut our stay short and leave after the second day. I called down the morning of Sunday (before check out) to let the front desk know that we were checking out that morning and he said no problem. We gathered our things and went to the office (you are not allowed inside, you have to conduct business from an outside window). I gave him our keys and he said "Thank you". I asked for a copy of my receipt and he said "Oh, OK". When I got it, I saw that we were charged for the entire stay. I told him we only stayed for 2 nights, why were we charged for the 3rd. He said "You didn't call to cancel" I told him "We checked in and needed to cut our visit short and gave him plenty of notice to be able to clean and release the room for someone else to check in. I have worked at plenty of hotels and it has never been a policy to charge a guest if they give proper and timely notice and check out before check in time of the current day. This was the biggest travel regret of my life and we will be reporting this property to corporate.

The worst! Wyndham should be ashamed in including this kind of hotel in its portfolio!! I expect better! Hotel is rundown. The office reuses the key card envelopes, scratching out old numbers and rewriting. Pillows are hard but beds were comfortable. Needs paint.
