Mandarin extravaganza The room was great, the majority of the staff were rude unfortunately. Not worth the money unless you have money to burn at $1000 a night they were going to charge me $7 for tap water in the Hotel Restaurant, it’s was hideous. We wanted to treat ourselves to an upscale hotel and were deeply disappointed! The cost for food in Lucerne was just ridiculous, almost $50 for a hamburger!! The town was quaint and beautiful but it was too rich for my blood. When I contacted hotel customer service they were very sorry for my experience and said I could book a stay and they would upgrade my room. So their compensation was for me to spend a thousand dollars a night, two thousand in airfare and they would upgrade my room. I was speechless lol. Do more research before you travel about the places you want to visit and stay in, all I wanted was to get some value for what I was spending and did not, would highly not recommend this hotel to anyone to stay in unless money is no object then you will enjoy it!!

Stay in Luzern Beautiful hotel. The interior & rooms honor the past with modern amenities. Very comfortable. The restaurants on site (sadly only had time to sample 1 of 3) are top notch. Plan ahead for the sushi & colonnade. But the service & food at our meals was high quality, professional & attentive. Now lastly to say the hotel staff was friendly does not do the level of justice to how friendly the entire staff is. From housekeepers, doorman, concierge, restaurant etc. I mean a level of friendly & helpful I cannot describe. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at !

Mandarin Oriental Lucerne is Pure Luxury The Mandarin Oriental Luzern is a lovely hotel with adequate air conditioning unlike many of the most luxurious Swiss hotels (those above a certain altitude supposedly are precluded from installing air conditioning by law). So, if you need a cool room to sleep and are traveling during the summer months, this is a safe selection. Although pricy, it is worth it. The rooms are state-of-the-art and are immaculately maintained and seem completely soundproof. The hotel is located right on the promenade and the lake, and most rooms seem to face that direction, and therefore they are not located above the busy street on the opposite side of the hotel. Note that the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant is closed during the summer. The staff and facilities are top notch, and the spa (ask for Max the female manager) is intimate and excellent.

Mandarin Oriental Luzern experience This 5-star hotel was absolutely fabulous. The staff were absolutely amazing, courteous, friendly and welcoming. The morning breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve ever seen. We were upgraded to a suite and could have lived there. Situated on Lake Luzern it is close to many tourist spots and great eating venues.

Great stay Beautiful hotel. Recently renovated. Sheets were excellent, bathroom was great. View of lake is wonderful. Gym was also very nice. Proximity to city was convenient. Quiet hotel. Did not try restaurants for dinner but did have breakfast and it was very good.
