Lovely Building with Great Staff We stayed overnight and really enjoyed the quiet location and lovely hospitality provided by the hotel team. It's an old building so you should consider this when booking however it was great value for money. We are doing walking trips around peaks during the summer holidays, and this was the perfect spot for us as it's very close to where we wanted to be. Highly recommend this hotel.

Good evening meals. Standard rooms disappointing. Evening meal great. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast average. (Coffee at breakfast terrible - stewed and burnt but no solution could be found by staff i.e brew fresh) Few fruit options. "Cheap" fruit juice. Standard rooms clean but tired. Paintwork around window awful. Comfy bed. nice large towels. Bathroom looked as if repeatedly "done up", but badly. Silicone along bath edge etc looked as if a child had done it. Some black mould. Lots of polyfilla in holes etc. in Bathroom. Noise from guests in room above bad - doesn't seem to be any sound proofing- every step heard. Could be massively better if just improved the rooms and made a few tweaks to breakfast.

An experience not to be repeated We stayed 24th August for 1 night, the room was very hot and we asked for a fan but they did not have any available. There is an terrible smell on the way to the room. The room was very dusty although the bath and toilet were clean. Evening meal Beef Bourguignon was very bland along with the vegetables and mash. Breakfast was very poor instant coffee, cordial instead of fresh juice, the bread was awful and I did not touch the cooked stuff as it looked dreadful. All in all not a good experience

Enjoyed it..... We went on a Bank Holiday package and really enjoyed ourself ... The hotel is set in a beautiful part of the world and very relaxing. I have read some of the reveiws and I think people are harsh at times. The hotel is older but it adds to its character. I would certainly go back and do it again. Staff are helpful, if you enjoy a bit of walking as well its a great place to be. We had no issue with the Dinner, accomidation or breakfast. It was a nice change.
