Bad Bathrooms- Poor Ventilation, Damp, Mildew We booked a double room suite in this hotel. Both bathrooms had mildew and poor ventilation, with pieces of the ceiling bowing from water. My family felt uncomfortable even being in the bathrooms; It didn't feel clean. After showering, the water/steam stayed in the air even with the fan on, resulting in the whole room feeling damp. When I emailed the customer care of Super 8, all they offered was a one night coupon back in Mackinaw City. Not happy with the experience at this hotel and would go somewhere else next time.

Stay away. Far, far away!!!! Terrible service. VERY RUDE. I booked a suite that they advertised as sleeping 10 adults. I arrived to find a dated, musty smelling dirty room that had 2 king beds and 2 twin size sofa beds that barely fit 6 people. When I expressed my concern I was told I got what I paid for and they refused to do anything to make it right. $600 to make people sleep on the floor. Ridiculous. The following morning, they didn’t even have their “breakfast item” (granola bar) or coffee out. In fact, the breakfast area was still filthy day from the previous day. Don’t be fooled by the exterior, this place is an overpriced smelly dump that is a colossal waste of your money. The only good thing I can say about it is it’s close to the bridge. Stay as far away from this place as you can, this place is a ripoff. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!

Property Owner doesn't reinvest money into hotels Outside appearance was very nice, inside was not. Outdated rooms and didn't feel clean. Front desk staff seemed irritated when asked for a different room. Property owner owns multiple properties, and you can definitely tell no money is reinvested back into the properties. I will definitely do more research and plan on staying in a hotel with better management and upkeep.

Rude Night Manager would NOT let me - a Mother of 3 sleeping kids- use the bathroom in an EMERGENCY - I peed my pants in RUDE RUDE RUDE NIGHT MANAGER. We were visiting from NJ.I drove 8 hours. In the dark. In the rain. With THREE sleeping kids in a cramped car from Chicago to Mackinac City. . I called the hotel to let them know that we would be arriving for our reservation at 1:30am. I had to go to the bathroom SO bad. I couldnt stop and leave 3 sleeping kids in the car. I Finally made it to the hotel!! I ran in to use the bathroom - about to Explode! I RAN IN….immediately asked the night to use the bathroom. He said No. I asked Again as I held my crotch, tip-toeing around so i wouldnt pee my pants. I asked again. He said No. I asked Again. He said, “We have no public restrooms”. - I peed my pants. Not a little. ALOT. Dripping down my legs in the elevator, as I ran to my room - as my 3 babies sat alone sleeping in the dark parking lot at 2am. SHAME ON YOU SIR and this crappy 3rd rate, musty, rude hotel.Hotel. I will Never again stay in a Super 8.

Old musty overpriced hotel with rude staff Would not recommend. Hotel is very dated. Rooms have an old misty smell. Keycard system breaks easily, had to have maintenance adjust our lock because the lock stopped working. Some rooms are staircase access only and the hotel will not help you switch to a room that has elevator or first floor, they just force you to book and pay for a new room. After seeing how tiny and disgusting the rooms were, as well as the issue with the sketchy locks, we asked to change to just a one night booking a leave in the morning. Manager wouldn’t work with us at all, just said no. You can tell the staff know their property is terrible and don’t care about complaints. “Breakfast” is a granola bar. Staff doesn’t care about the property, too busy talking to each other or taking smoke breaks or trying to find something in their purse to help you with any helpful info. Five minute walk to the downtown area which is nice. You can walk just across the street for a great view of the bridge. Unless it’s less than $50 a night and every other room in the city is booked I wouldn’t recommend it. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
