Best value in metro Detroit, close to Royal Oak and nearby shops you can walk to Great stay and a bargain AAA rate ($67). Got my favorite room type: 3rd floor facing Extended Stay (south) in the enclosed third floor. Room was fine. Internet excellent. Easy to use TV. Room cleaned every 3 days or more often if you request. Walk to nearby Value Market, coffee shop and bakery, Powerhouse Gym, Lebanese restaurant -- all in nearby strip mall on 14 mile just to the west of the motel. Easy access to I-75. Royal Oak just 4 miles away, Clawson just 2. Clawson has lots of cute shops and restaurants. Who knew? A great stay. Have stayed here for years. Under new ownership.

This was a repeat trip to this motel, but will be our last. Pass it by I have been going to this motel for many many years before they even changed to Baymont. I find the location very convenient. The last visit was in April 2024 before I went again this past weekend (November 2024). I understand that they have changed management and have GONE DOWNHILL massively since then. When I was there in April it was run down as it has been for all the years, but OK. This time, however, I see that they have made numerous changes. Went to use their computer, found it broken and was told some guest broke it in the past, and it has not been fixed. Up in the room, looked for a pen and paper - none and none available at the desk. Afternoon coffee, forget it, they shut the lights in the lobby and if there is any coffee it is left over. No creamer, just powder. We asked for the creamers, they told us no they have none. Went at supper time to eat our sandwiches in the lobby. All dark in there and had to request lights. The room I requested was full and was placed on the third floor, which I was told was renovated. Well. The only renovation was a new and very high bed. The rest of the room had not been changed in any way. Rridge works, but not great. Went to take a bath, but the tap did not function well and it was hard to get it working. No hot water at all. Since it was late in the evening I did not call for repair but waited for the next morning. I reported that the next morning and they told me too bad as there were no other rooms available. They agreed to send a repair man, who did come and tried it and concluded that I was right and there was no hot water at all. They found another room on the second floor, not a great location. Sitting in the room, suddenly loud noises next door. Some idiot decided to smoke it all up and it took them a long time to get rid of the smell of the marijuana (which had a stench throughout their property). Both rooms did smell somewhat anyway. Then in the evening, some other person also decided to smoke up (I assume) and the fire alarm went off and the fire trucks arrived. They claimed it was a false alarm, but I did overhear something about smoke in the room and the fire department went to that area to check. Then there is the breakfast - which changed dramatically from the last trips there. No waffles anymore. They told me that some guest had broken it (maybe the same guest that broke their computer?) No hard-boiled eggs anymore, just powdered eggs and sausages, with bread and muffins. Want a banana? Nope, that is gone too. So in the end, we did not remain for their breakfast on the day we were leaving, not worth eating there. We were happy to clear out at 6:30 AM and eat elsewhere. there is a smell everywhere of smoke and grass. Yuck. Pass this place by. I did advise at the desk our unhappiness, for what it's worth We will unfortunately say goodbye to this hotel and will have to locate another in the same area for future visits. Maybe we can return in the future if they are taken over. A real shame as the location is perfect and the price was reasonable, but the quality is just too low now.

Nice spa tub Bed was comfy. Spa tub great. It was well needed and worked very well. Room outdated. Had issue with shower spraying water. Ok room for a quick weekend. Near many restaurants and the mall. All walking distance. Breakfast is basic continental, nothing fancy.

Don't bother staying here The room conditions and the state of the establishment haven't been fixed in the 11 years I've been coming here. Add to that the higher prices, there's no reason to book a room here, there's cheaper hotels/motels in the same area with the same run down conditions
