Central, convenient and very good value This is an ideal small hotel to use when wishing to be in the heart of Madrid. It has easy access to all the locations you could possibly want to visit. The taxi ride to the hotel from the airport is easy and not too expensive. You can also use the metro to get there as well. The rooms are kept clean and the beds are comfortable. Depending on where your room is situated, the view of the city (particularly at night) is excellent. There are steps up and down from the reception area, so if your bag is heavy you may have to ask for assistance. The breakfast is more than sufficient for all nationalities. One of the lifts is extremely small and if there are four of you, you can squash into it and take a memorable photograph. There are places that need renovation, but on the whole it was clean, welcoming and a good choice of hotel to use as a base. Excellent value for money.

Great location, good value for money Hotel Arosa is located just around the corner of a side street (Calle Salud) to the magnificent Gran Via. This is a great location! The subway station Gran Via is a short walk away, so getting to and from the hotel is easy. I had a small room on the sixth floor with a view over the Gran Via. There was some noise from the traffic below, but not so much that it constituted a problem. Be aware that the two elevators are VERY small! The breakfast selection was nice and I did not have any problem finding an available table during my stay. All in all, I think Hotel Arosa offers good value for money, especially considering the great location!

Great location. This hotel has a great location, half a block away from Gran Vía and next to Casa del Libro (lovely bookshop). The rooms are comfortable and some have views to the Gran via street. The most shocking thing is the elevator, which is extremely small! The staff is educated and helpful.

A hotel in need of serious renovation I had to bite my tongue in order to make it through the duration of my stay. Unfortunately, my son made this reservation for me. I liked the location of this hotel which is near La Plaza del Sol. Initially, I was given a room with the view of busy streets and stores. It was fine until I woke up with a severe back pain, and could not get out of bed.... A poor mattress with beat up furniture, dirty chairs, that I was afraid to sit on... My health was my true concern because I did not want to go the hospital.... Finally, I complained and was offered many rooms with unacceptable beds. The room I chose had a better mattress and no view. It was a dungeon and I felt like a prisoner in Madrid. I was barricaded by bricks walls... This is not an exaggeration! I was devastated but the management could not offer me any other rooms.. for three days... Technically, they were booked.. I suffered in silence until i was able to choose a better room. The management offered me no compensation. Instead, they increased my rate by over 200euros. One good thing was the food and the restaurant personnel, They were nice and courteous. Everything was clean and neatly displayed. This hotel needs new management and a complete face lift of its rooms. This is one of the worst hotel that I have stayed in. It is beneath my dignity and I was insulted...
