Event hire I was here for a business event, hiring a couple of the event space rooms. The venue is clean and tidy, as well as bright. However the rooms and surrounding areas could do with an update. There wasn’t air conditioning in the rooms which meant it was a little stuffy on a hot day. However, I have to call out the staff, as they are excellent and very helpful, particularly Michelle and her team. They are attentive will go above and beyond to help

Good stay but crowded car park The staff are all friendly especially Nina on the check out desk who sorted out a problem regarding payment however, she couldn't sort out my loyalty points issue as this trip was booked through the company booking service (which is done on a regular basis). Seems a bit unfair that we stay at Mercure regularly but due to the booking procedure, we cannot claim the loyalty points. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was of a good standard. The only downside I would say was that the car park seemed to be full with cars of people who were just using the gym. Maybe dedicated car parking spaces for hotel guests and gym users may make first time arrivals a little less stressful.

Not a great experience Second visit to this hotel not a great meeting by the receptionist on arrival went to the bar to get some drinks the drink cabinets where very poorly stocked had to wait ages for a drink as one member of staff on duty went out to the garden tables full of empty glasses Booked a table to have dinner with friends stuck in a corner on a balcony area other tables unused service very poor not enough staff on duty Rooms mattresses very hard windows had to be open all night due to heat air conditioning units on roof running all night so sleep was very poor Breakfast was not as good as other visit buffet hot food cold and not enjoyable Hotel is in a sad state and in need of some serious maintenance internally and externally if I do come back here let’s hope things have improved It’s not all about profit is about customer satisfaction

Fantastic all round I attended training in a conference room. The facilities were amazing, staff were very helpful and made sure we had everyone we needed for us.

FIVE STAR STAFF A big shout out to all the catering staff Doug, Pujan, Neive, Susie, Sue, Amanda, Debbie, Joyti, Siya, I hope I haven’t missed any one out. This team make our working days more bearable and our leisure time more pleasurable. Well done all ! Derek
