great experience as our wedding hotel The DoubleTree was our primary hotel for our wedding -- we reserved a wedding block at the hotel for our guests, my wife and I stayed at the hotel ourselves, and we also hosted a brunch at the hotel the morning after the wedding. In addition, the hotel coordinated a shuttle for our families and myself to and from the wedding venue, about a 15-minute drive away. The hotel staff was tremendously helpful in managing our various hotel needs (guest rooms, transportation, brunch), and everything went forward without a hitch, which was much appreciated given the stress of the weekend. We enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree and heard positive things from guests who stayed there, as well.

A great hotel with great service. Pretty much a perfect stay. As my son used to say, “It’s all good.” First, the best and most important aspect of any truly good hotel experience is service. Here they excelled. When we knew we were going to arrive late, my wife called and spoke to Captain about making sure they saved four cookies as I was a fanatic and he said he would mark it down that we would be late and that the cookies would be there. We had a reservation, but later because my wife was in very bad shape and because she does the driving, we couldn’t even attempt to drive from Wilmington, Delaware to Tysons Corner, Virginia, a 2.5 hour drive. I explained the situation to a young man named Elvin on the phone and asked if we could move the reservation to the next night. He was so nice that he said he would cancel it and not charge us for it. I verified that a couple of times with him, just to make absolutely sure I had not misunderstood. I told him that we would try to make it there the next day, anyway, as I felt badly to cancel beyond the normal cancellation time. To reward the chain, we stayed at a Hampton Inn, which was very nice, as well. The next day, my wife was still not great and we considered trying to go straight home, as we doubted she would be in shape to walk in the mall or even see a movie. After thinking it over, I said that we had an obligation to go to The Doubletree, as they were so decent and she agreed. Before we got on the road, we called the hotel and asked if there were rooms available for the night and to once again confirm we were not charged for the room the night before. I spoke to Moody, who was extremely pleasant and confirmed both. Our expectations were high for a great stay now. We left late again and when we arrived, it immediately started raining. My wife went in to get a room, as we had not made a reservation because we were scared we might not make it that far. Elvin was there and graciously gave her an umbrella so she would not get drenched returning to our parked car where I was waiting. We were originally given a room on the second floor that was near the elevator and a very noisy ice machine. We asked for another room and they had no problem with that. We wanted a large room and it was very comfortable, with a big, quality bed, bedding, and a nice big, quality couch, refrigerator, large, very nice bathroom with a long counter and a spacious shower. We often don’t pay for breakfast, but at $15 it was a good choice, as there were lots of choices of what to eat and it was all very tasty. The eggs with a side of potatoes, which were especially good anchored my breakfast, but I added on a piece of cake, which looked enticing and was delicious, so much so that I had another, later. The french toast and real maple syrup were very good, as was the cantaloupe. I was greeted by a charming man., Safef. We bantered for a few minutes until he had to deal with other guests coming for breakfast. It was lots of fun. The lady who was his co-worker was also very pleasant and attentive and took care of all of our breakfast needs, including bringing my wife an excellent hot chocolate with whipped cream, no less. I should not forget the employee who guided me to the breakfast room when he saw I was lost, without my even asking. My wife was similarly high with her breakfast. The hotel was in excellent condition and absolutely immaculate. Couldn’t be better. The AC was a tad loud, but not annoying, We met the extremely pleasant Berat, the manager, when we were returning to our room from breakfast and asked for a late checkout and a couple more cookies. No problem. We told him how pleased we were with our overall experience and he was delighted to hear it. You could tell he was very proud and deservedly so. I told him I would be writing a glowing review on TripAdvisor and he was even more delighted and appreciative. Later, he offered more cookies for our trip home, since enjoyed them so much. . We met Rostic, who helped us with our stored bags when we left the hotel. . The entire staff deserves praise. Here’s where I get on my soapbox. We should all patronize institutions that act in a decent, civilized and humane manner. We need to show we appreciate their efforts in what often are difficult and thankless jobs. And we need to write reviews like this to let the owners/investors know that this way of doing business has financial rewards, as well, since that is what they are primarily interested in. I was in a restaurant recently where the waiter brought bread, but said we should not eat it as it was not fresh and if we waited he would bring a fresh loaf right out of the oven. When I said I would write a review, he asked I not mention it, as he might get in trouble with his manager. The manager needs to know this is precisely what creates satisfied and loyal customers. Want fresh bread or a decent hotel? Then you need to fight for it.

ALEX was amazing! We spent the evening at Tysons Social and had a wonderful time thanks to Alex! This was our second visit and we can't wait to come back. The food was great and the team went out of their way to make my favorite drink. Also, Alex has an excellent taste in music :)

Outstanding business training experience Excellent service for our training. Great support, food, logistics. Highly recommend for small group conferences, trainings or offsites. Highly recommend. The only challenge for me was driving to the facility from northern VA (traffic is horrendous) but everything else was first rate.
