Nice hotel in Minneapolis This is a great choice. The hotel was clean and fresh. My platinum upgrade was honored when I inquired at the desk and I received a great corner junior suite. The club lounge is closed but the breakfast in the restaurant was good and super fast and the server (I think her name was Kelly) was so friendly. We ordered room service (no menu in the room, had to go back down to the desk again) and it was quick and delivered with a smile. Marshalls and Nordstrom's are only one block away, A few small things - Parking prices are posted lower in the garage than what I was charged ($30 for 15 hours). I also had to pay $5 for a bottle of water for my CPAP because there was no complimentary bottled water in my room (usually an elite perk). Also, on the 14th floor, you can hear loud music coming from outside until very late in the night/early in the morning. There is a club on ground level that blasts music so loud that it's really hard to sleep. I didn't have the same problem Monday night so it might be limited to weekends. Not the fault of the hotel, just an unfortunate venue location. I would definitely stay here again on a weeknight.

Try a Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn instead My wife and I spent 5 nights at this property over Memorial day weekend. Checking in was in order. I had asked for and got an upgrade to the corner Loft suite on the 31st floor. Located in the center of town with plenty of parking structures with available parking. The Marriott has their own parking structure next door which though at $26/day is steep, they claim allows for unlimited in/out access. Must say the parking structure, if you have luggage, is rather far away and the way into the hotel is NOT AT ALL easy. So park on the street in front of the hotel and use the luggage cart to move your stuff. You have to ride 2 elevators to get to your room. One to the 5th floor to reception and the 2nd one to your room. The room was awesome! Two floors with a bedroom on each floor and a full bathroom on each floor. There was a generous living room. 3 TV's in all. A kitchen area with a small dining area. Bathrooms were large and plenty of counter space. The upstairs bathroom even had a separate tub and shower. Here are some finer points. Let me warn you that the negatives far, far outweigh the positives. If you look up the website of the Minneapolis City Center Marriott you will see wonderful things about the restaurant choices, the M Lounge where premium members (I hold a Titanium membership) can have drinks and snacks and relax in comfort, yada, yada. When I checked in I was told NONE OF THE RESTAURANTS are open. The M Lounge was closed. Pathetic!!! They could not be bothered to put a simple note on their website that these are closed. That WOULD HAVE MOST DEFINITELY changed my choice of this hotel. In fact when you call the Marriott, while you are on hold, they have a recorded message playing about the 40,000+ square feet of convention center space they have etc. etc. They could not be bothered to make a simple recording that restaurants and the lounge are closed. No breakfast!!! At a modest Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn one can get a warm breakfast, yogurt, orange juice, cereal, milk, fruits etc. Not at the posh city center Marriott. They have vending machines with a sorry arrangement of sandwiches, bagels, fruit juice etc. at ridiculous prices. As a premium member I get breakfast included. When I went to get a sandwich, the lady at the reception tells me that only 'breakfasty' things are free not a chicken tortilla sandwich. Arbitrary making up of rules!!! From the 2nd day there was no yogurt (Chobani) in the vending machine. I brought this to the attention of the receptionist who said they will take care of it. On the 5th day when I checked out there still wasnt any yogurt in the machine. They have a microwave next to the vending machine to heat up your breakfast sandwich. For 3 days it had the same stains in it with no maintenance. Horrible! Saturday & Sunday they had a plated breakfast which we availed of. Ordered Orange juice and imagine our horror when they bring out the same sugar filled bottle of Tropicana from the vending machine!!! Supposedly this was for 'COVID' reasons. When I asked for a glass of water, they bring me a glass of water with ice in it. If that is 'COVID proof' why not a glass of orange juice? Bogus !!! At the most modest Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn every room has a small fridge and microwave. Here, no microwave and just a wine cooler in the kitchen area. Clueless !!! Upon request, they brought over a microwave to the room. They have a fabulous Fitness center on the 7th floor. Day 1 there were no Towels and the waste bins looked like they had not been emptied in a week. This did get some attention in the next 2 days. Most of the times reception had 1 person there. Imagine running a 25 floor hotel with 1 person. One time, I had a question to ask and had to hang around for about 5 minutes while this person was on the phone. Ridiculous !!! Had we not got an upgrade, this hotel would have been the biggest ripoff ever! Most definitely give it a miss.

Ummm...I’m still hopeful for a better finish The stars are for the aesthetics and the friendly staff we’ve encountered-BOTH of them! Finally traveling again. After airline delays we arrived at this beautiful hotel close to 2AM. We needed some refreshments so asked where the M Club was located. That’s when they told us there is no MClub! We pay a good amount of $$$$ for this amenity and have checked and been assured SEVERAL times about it’s availability. We were offered some snacks from the snack shop. Not quite the same but at this late hour it will have to do. The room is beautiful but finding the former resident HAIR in my garbage can was simply GROSS. I placed the pail outside my room and called the main desk. NO ANSWER. In the morning husband made them aware of this—almost 2 hours ago.....it’s still there In our travels there have been cities where the MClub was not functioning. The hotel gives vouchers for breakfast in their restaurant. My husband inquired about this option this morning and was told THE RESTAURANT IS NOT OPEN. He was told to help himself to the snack wall! They could at least put out some fresh fruit. How about a coffee urn so we don’t have to stand around while the ONLY desk clerk goes in some room to make 2 cups of coffee. Oh, GIVE ME A BREAK. We’ve been waiting over one year for this trip. To say this is a disappointing start is an understatement. This is NOT the quality I’ve grown to expect from the Marriot brand. Don’t even get me started on not a single dresser drawer in the room.............. Let me be clear, I do not want some rubber stamped apology from the manager-I want this fixed....NOW. Manager—you can find me in the corner suite on the 29th floor. I will update this review pending a resolution

Great experience-Fabulous unique room I had a milestone birthday to celebrate, and we decided to stay in downtown Minneapolis for the night. Minneapolis Marriott City Center had a couple of different options for upgraded rooms and the one we chose was dynamite. Ours had a beautiful cityscape view complete with power operated privacy curtains. The suite of rooms boasted double sinks in the bathroom, an ample work desk, stylish seating areas, a table for dining and two king sized bedrooms. The sleeping areas are separated by a staircase providing privacy if you're traveling with kids or friends. It was an amazing find and so different from a traditional room. There are actually two levels. The staff was terrific for our stay as well. I would highly recommend this suite for an urban getaway!
