As a returning guest, the resort has different vibe - some of staff seem unhappy, quality has declined, noise increase. We have been to Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica at least 4 times and usually bring our family with us and book 5 rooms. That is what we did this trip (We stayed 8 nights). Our troubles began with the ordeal of trying to select a room and I made the mistake of calling Jamaica to try to solve my problem with no success and it was over 100 dollar phone call. The check person was rude. She didn’t tell us about where we could eat except the buffet, she sent us to the couch to wait for someone to take us and our bags to our room and walked away before I could ask her any questions. Not even a Welcome Back! We waited almost a half hour until someone from behind the desk saw us and offered to take us and our bags to the room. Having been there before, the quality of the food was very diminished. From night to night there wasn’t enough variety. There were bugs flying and landing on the food, and it was difficult ordering drinks and even getting refills of water. The cheese platters looked hot and sweaty. We were a table of 11 and trying to get them to leave 3 bottles of water on the table so we could refill our water glasses was just impossible! There were some servers who were outstanding and made us feel special. I wish I could recall their names. I do want to give a special shout out to Jules and Orlando at the swim up pool bar, and Toni at Aunt Ruby’s Steak and Lobster Restaurant. The noise level in general was way too loud and made it difficult to carry on a conversation when we were sitting at the pool or even eating dinner if there was entertainment. The shows were also extremely loud and unpleasant to be in the room. Sometimes at a tropical location you want to enjoy the view and serenity and not here a person shouting all afternoon at the pool. Probably the worst experience was the betrayal of the customer servicee desk representative, Nadine. My husband and I walked over to her desk one evening to ask where the show was and she offered to walk us there. She asked how our trip was going and I told her about our check in experience. She said that it sounded awful and she would look into and to come back tomorrow at 3:00. She wanted to do something for us and our family. I left my husband by the pool at 2:30 the next day to talk to Nadine. She clearly hadn’t recalled asking me to come. I reminded her of what happened and she said wanted to send something to our room like a bottle of rum (we already had one delivered the day before). She asked if like fruit and I said yes! She said she would like to arrange a dinner for our family. I said that was nice. When she met my daughter and her husband and she said she could give them 100 dollars if they would go to a breakfast at the Grand. It would be just one hour and no pressure! She would have to get her sister to babysit. My daughter and her husband felt that they were not told the truth. It was high pressure for 2 hours and it was a 100 dollar credit in the resort. We never got fruit, or a dinner, they were just empty promises, and I wasted more that 2.5 hours one afternoon of my vacation without my husband. Years past, returning guests would get tee shirts that say “I’m Back and a bottle of Rum in their room. It doesn’t cost money to say Welcome Back! . The pillows are hard and I asked for down or feather pillows and they said they don't any other pillows at the resort. We had to call everyday to have our mini bar restocked! In spite of this, my family did have fun, but we have fun where-ever we are.

Not a good experience UPDATE: Day two Tashana at the front desk was amazingly helpful and moved both our rooms and did not announce our room numbers out loud to help us feel like we had a bit more security. Because we were still on the same floor same section she additionally made a note that no one was to enter our rooms unless we were in them and present. Tannia in the PR/Guest Services department set up a meeting with the assistant general manager Tatiana with our family. We were assured they are completing an investigation and were continuing to look into the situation. Day three the hotel booked a complementary excursion for our family for the inconvenience and unfortunateness of the incident. The police arrived in the late afternoon to take a statement. With an explanation that due to lack of evidence and no forced entry they may not be able to provide a resolution or find a suspect. During this visit Earnest in security was very apologetic. While this is not how we wanted our vacation to start and the first day was handled very poorly I will say that while we are still staying diligent we are feeling better about the way the situation is now being addressed. ——————————— We picked this resort after reviewing so many resorts in the area to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday and high school graduation. I will tell you we are not even 24-hours into our stay and I don’t think I could be any more disappointed in this resort and the experience we have had in such a short amount of time. We booked two oven front rooms for our family of six. Upon arrival we are told there are no double rooms available even though they were requested at the time of booking, again through Apple Vacations customer service and again with the hotel before arrival. We offer to take one king and one double nope not possible. We offer to move to a comparable room in an alternate location nope not possible. The check in staff offer to add a roll away bed to one of the rooms and move us halfway through our vacation. Reluctantly we accepted. We are given one of our two rooms while we are told a roll away bed will be put in the other and it will be a bit before it's available. We go to the room that is ready and wait roughly an hour. The second room still isn't ready. We decide to leave our things in one room and take our kids to the pool. We left the room for LESS THAN AN HOUR and come back to find someone has let themselves into our room gone through our bags and stolen $1200USD in cash out of our bags, purses and wallets and one of the keys to our second room. Security comes up makes a big show takes pictures and assures us the police will be here after we requested they call them. The police never come at all. We finally get into our second room only to find NO ROLL AWAY BED, two broken lamps, a broken table and it smells like cigars. We called Guest Services five time to explain the situation and issues and all that happens is maintenance changed the table and one lamp. Latoya in Guest Services assured us she would call back and of course she did not. Absolutely no adequate assistance to rectify the fact that one of our rooms THAT HAS MY CHILDREN IN IT was robbed, the other room smells, no roll away and one of our keys was stolen. How am I supposed to feel safe?????? How am I supposed to feel my children are safe?????? Not even an offer to even move our rooms at the very least. Absolutely no compassion, understanding or even compensation for the one room that smells horrible. I understand resorts have their quirks and issues and I'm not usually one to complain but this has been the most horrible experience and I've been here less than a day. This is truly the most unacceptable experience I have ever had traveling. This is not my first time to Jamaica. This is not my first stay at an Iberostar we are even IGH members. However I have never in all my travels experience treatment like this.
