Oceanfront Serenity and First-Class Comfort in Monterey If you're planning a trip to Monterey, I highly recommend staying at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. The location is unbeatable—right on the waterfront with sweeping views of Monterey Bay. You’re just a short walk from popular spots like Cannery Row and the Aquarium, but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was absolutely wonderful. Ours overlooked the ocean and marina—we fell asleep to the soothing sound of waves and even heard sea lions in the distance! The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant was another highlight. We sat outside and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was—it really exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a place that combines luxury, comfort, and a personal touch, this hotel truly checks all the boxes. Stunning views, excellent service, and a calm, coastal vibe make it a standout stay in Monterey.

The only place to stay in Monterey! Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Monterey. My daughter thought the interior looked like the Grand Staircase from The Titanic. Absolutely worth the upgrade for a water front balcony to enjoy a morning coffee. The Tidal Coffee Shop on ground floor was perfect for easy and fast breakfasts. LOVED and appreciated the Nespresso in rooms. Schooners for lunch was outstanding with a gorgeous patio table overlooking the water(crabBLT, OMG). The lobby does live music with a cocktail bar and menu each evening 5-7 which may be my favorite part. Each night the music was different. You can request games from the front desk. While expensive, the old fashioned was a 10/10. Don’t forget about the roof top hot tubs! We live bed and appreciated every amenity on our CA vacation. The only downside notable is that there is a sea lion beach right next to the hotel and the sea lions kept us up at night. Great for the viewing but not so grateful sleep. Wish the hotel would’ve warned us in handed out some complementary earplugs.

Wonderful Hotel Room with a view! Our room had a balcony overlooking Monterey Bay. It was wonderfully relaxing to sit on the balcony and watch sea otters and birds. Even the sea lions barking added to the experience. We had an excellent room with all the trimmings. Schooners is a very good to excellent restaurant with outside seating that was great for Breakfast. We did not try Costal (Michelin rated). Staff was friendly and attentive. From the front desk to luggage assistance to the valet, everyone always asked how we were doing and engaged in polite conversation. They always asked if there was anything else they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. We will be going back the next time we are in Monterey!

A perfect stay at The Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa!!! Wow! We were so impressed with the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa! We had not been before and were choosing between 3 hotels in the area. We loved that the Plaza was directly on the water, and made our decision based on reviews we found online. We are so glad we made this choice! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect! The hotel is beautiful - I saw that someone mentioned it needed a refresh - we did not think that at all. It reminds me of the beautiful hotels you see on the East Coast and in the South. Just beautiful and comfortable. We took advantage of their Keys to Luxury package as a gift to my husband for our 30th wedding anniversary. It included 25% off a luxury rental car through Enterprise Exotic Car Rentals (Lucas was amazing), 15% off accommodations and a bottle of Monterey County wine to enjoy. This MADE the entire trip for my husband! We rented a Porsche 911 convertible to travel down the PCH and take the famous 17 mile drive to Pebble Beach. Everything was spectacular! We had never been to this part of California, and spent time in Monterey, Carmel by the Sea, Half Moon Bay, and Sonoma. Our stay at the Monterey Plaza was definitely one of the highlights. We had an ocean front, balcony room with a gorgeous view. It felt very private. We even slept with the door open to hear the sea, seals and watch the sea otters frolicking. Priceless! We will definitely be back. Thank you to Miranda, Armani, Monica, Meghan, Carson, Lucy, and everyone at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa who made our stay so unforgettable!

Fabulous stay in Monterey Picture yourself well taken care of from your car when you pull in front of the hotel to the roof top lounge and sauna. I felt so cared for after the staff cleaned the room each day. The atmosphere for the restaurants is as spectacular as the food and views. Walking distance to town, wharf, parks, Cannary Row, fabulous restaurants and the exercise trail along the shore.
