Always a nice stay at Nelligan This was our second stay at Hotel Nelligan and our stay was almost as perfect as our first. My favourite aspect of the hotel is its location. Well situated in Old Montreal and a manageable walk to downtown Mtl. The ambiance is also really nice. Definitely a happening place. The staff and service is always very good. We stayed in a Superior King room which was very spacious and comfortable. My only complaint with the room is the shower pressure and the lighting in the bathroom - could be improved upon. We were happy to find a mini fridge instead of a mini bar, but the fridge did not cool well. We definitely recommend this hotel and will be back ourselves.

Extended weekend in Old Montreal This is just a great hotel in the middle of Old Montreal. So much to see, and do within a 10 minute walk. We took the train from Toronto leaving the car at home it was fantastic. The Hotel itself from the fabulous staff to the bar, rooftop patio to the restaurants left nothing to desire it had it all. I highly recommend it.

Fundamentally Good But… My wife and I were at the Nelligan for three nights. It’s hard to know how to review in the pandemic. Obviously understanding is called for. Still, for us, the Nelligan, while overall a positive stay, was a bit of a mixed bag. First and foremost the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. As an example, the Verses staff were very helpful in setting up a table for us where we could watch the Habs in the final. And if you want to spend time in Old Montreal, it’s hard to imagine a better location. There were some issues, though. It’s no one’s fault, but be aware that your car, if you have one, MUST be valet parked and retrieved. You’ll need their help even to go get the glasses you forgot in the car when you arrived. (We persuaded them to walk us to the car to get the glasses, but it seemed like they were making an exception and really they felt the valet should bring the car up and down for us, which would have been wasteful. But they DID make the exception, so again, kudos to the staff.). That’s largely a result of the buildings and streets in Old Montreal but still a bit inconvenient. We couldn’t make the TV streaming work, no matter how we tried. That could be us, but we’re not luddites and the system certainly wasn’t designed for intuitive or easy use. If you want to relax at some point watching the Netflix the TV offers, be prepared for challenges. The room itself was good, with a great shower (although one of he five controls was broken) and exposed brick walls. But it was a tad small for the price point, and understand that the view is down into the lobby and when they have music playing in the lobby you will likely hear it in your room (from the third floor). But walk out that front door and you are right in the midst of the best of Old Montreal - galleries, secret cocktail bars, restaurants of various kinds and cobblestone streets to walk, So, whether the Nelligan is right for you depends on what matters to you. If Location and pleasant staff are key, this is the place for you. But if room size and convenience in amenities are key, maybe not.

Amazing Amazing location and great hotel. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Room is so clean and spacious. Staff will bring whatever you need to your room within minutes. Great service. Valet parking is convenient.

4 Nights - An incredible experience! Coming back VERY soon! Montreal is like our second home, and after many years, I think I finally found our second address in the beautiful city. After almost every other hotel chain has cut room cleaning services, which is one of the hallmarks features of a worry-free escape, Hotel Nelligan provided us upon request, every time, with a beautiful clean room when we needed it. I know this should be expected, but considering the times and the fact they wouldn't have been expected to do it, I want the staff to know I truly appreciate and value it. Beyond that... Restaurants: -Incredible food! Starting the day off with a perfectly made croissant and flat white? YES! -$25 Table d'hote? Yes! (And very very very delicious) -The waiters are a TINY bit rusty for placing an order, but who wouldn't be after the lockdowns (I know I am!), and they acknowledged any mistakes immediately. Valet: -During covid, other hotels have opted to stop valet service or limit them, but at Hotel Nelligan? You stop your car at the front of the hotel, and your car and luggage are magically taken care of (how do they do it so fast?!), and when you check out, a car loaded with your luggage magically appears in the front of the hotel. Perfection. Rooms: -Sleeping was a breeze on their king bed, absolutely perfect. Knocked out within seconds on the clouds. - Nespresso machine made our mornings. Such an elegant, delicious solution to gently getting us ready for the day. -Washrooms were beautiful and immaculately cleaned and serviced with all products during room cleanings. Staff: -Wonderful, empathetic staff. Felt like we were among friends :)
