Hampton Inn Morehead City

Extremely dirty and unsanitary. Stay out! I am not sure who writes these glowing reviews of this hotel, but it is extremely dirty and unsanitary. Makes me wonder how is it even allowed to operate under the Hilton umbrella? The place is the dirtiest I've sever seen. We checked in around 4 pm, and the first room we were offered smelled really bad. The window was covered in scum so couldn’t even see through it. The bathroom had long stands of black hair on the floor. Toilet bowl had poop streaks. I almost threw up. The host offered us to wait and transfer to another room. It took about 30 min. The whole floor (4th floor) smelled. The spring box and bedskirsts had huge multiple stains on it. The curtain was ripped and slashed into shreds. Same white scum deposits on the windows. The air conditioner barely worked, it made a lot of noise but didn’t make a lot of cool air. Early in the morning next day, we were awakened by loud banging on the ceiling. It turns out, contractors were repairing the roof, and they were hammering above our head. Public places are so disgusting, sticky and filthy, that I tried not to touch anything. Furniture is sticky and stained. Even the hotel stickers in the elevators that are supposed to show happy people on vacation are damaged or ripped off. Staying in this hotel made me wash all my clothes in extra hot water and wonder what kind of disgusting diseases I might have picked up there. The manager of this dirty unsanitary hole should be fired on the spot, and the whole housekeeping crew should follow him or her. What a dump!

Decent place A usual Hampton Inn. Check in was fast, room was clean, beds were comfortable. Great view of the water from our room. Breakfast was also fine, with a good variety of things to have. HOWEVER, this place was WAY overpriced! I'm not really sure why.

Dirty Hampton Obviously things have deteriorated with Hampton Inn. I’ve been a Hilton Diamond for many years and recently let it go due to poor facilities and feeling I could get better at a super 8, this Hampton proves my thoughts. I couldn’t figure out the source of the black that was transferring to my hands and made my white pants look like I worked in a garage…it was the curtains. I was already skeptical of the care when I saw the curtains off the track when I arrived. So much for getting diamond status back, not worth being dirty after opening curtains.

Worn out property. I have been staying at this location when in the area for business and personal stays for many years. This property used to be well taken care of, but over the last several years it has gone down hill to the point I will be looking for another location to stay in the area. Bed was horribly uncomfortable. Walls in bathroom are filthy. Plumbing fixtures in shower were falling apart. Black out curtain was tattered. Overall room furniture is extremely worn. Whole hotel needs a major renovation!

Comfortable. Room had a view of the sound. The hotel is very nice, the view of the sound is pretty. The rooms is comfortable. The breakfast left us disappointed, they ran out of things like the oatmeal. When I asked the breakfast attendant if there would be more oatmeal he started complaining and scolded me for asking saying that the little league soccer league cleaned him out and do I expect him to make more when there is only 45 minutes left before he has to clean up. I felt guilty taking anything after that. Then another couple asked him for something and he yelled at them too, they actually walked away and said they would go somewhere else to eat. Its a shame the breakfast attendant was having a bad day and took it out on the guests because one of my favorite things about Hampton Inn is the breakfast. So the room was nice and comfortable, we enjoyed the view of the sound. Location was close to shops and restaurants.
