Esquire-GFL Lodge Weekend We came here this past Thursday for a group weekend. When we checked in we were given a room that was not serviced. We went back to the desk and they gave us a new room. The following morning i asked for the manager. I was told that he would arrive in an hour. I finally spoke with him. He promised us a 25 percent discount off our rate . The following morning I asked for our discount. I was told that we’ve would get it upon check out. This morning when I wanted to check out I was told that the manager was not in. They said it would be mailed to me. I’m not holding my breath.

NOPE: pitiful staff, room clean, building needs plenty of simple maintenance. Breakfast is very minimal. I thought clarion was a step up from Quality Suites/Quality Inns but this is the worst Choice Hotel we have ever stayed at. My wife wanted to leave the first morning, if I didn’t risk losing my reservation/room money we would leave. Pros: roll in shower (and nothing else) Cons: at breakfast a kitchen staff interrogated my Chinese wife and demanded to see her room key to prove she was a guest 2) The breakfast menu offered the smallest choice of foods since covid. No eggs, no sausage, no bagels, no yogurt not even a hard boiled egg. Waffles and cold cereal only. Cheap skates! 3) The room is clean altho the room chair seat material needs cleaning and the wood needs to be cleaned of the spill marks. The place lacks simple maintenance like wall repairs and paint touch ups 4) The signs!! There are 6 handwritten signs in the dining area telling guests “ if you take food to your room you will be charged”. What and why??? 5) NOT wheelchair friendly. There is no elevator to the first floor (room 303) instead there is a ramp about 60 ft long making it hard to get to a room without assistance. OVERALL: the management seems to know nothing about managing a hotel, maintaining a hotel property or customer service.

Extremely bad experience This hotel does not look like photos; filled with homeless and vagrants who prop locked exterior doors open for easy access; bathtub drain with rust and dirt ring; curtains in room shredded; full size refrigerator sits out in the room from the wall and is the first thing you see when you enter the room; front desk staff is also bartender in bar that does not have mixers, juice or wine; no restaurant on site as advertised and confirmed by phone call to the hotel; booked through Expedia and had to leave due to safety reasons and hotel would not refund $475 paid to them even after explaining above. We have traveled extensively but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Solid value. Clean budget hotel Excellent for what it is - affordable, no nonsense, clean. It’s not luxury and the exterior looks a little rough, but the room was super clean, excellent shower, AC worked great, nice towels. Everything that needs to be good was good, and it was CHEAP!

Not good I recently stayed at the Clarion Inn New London, and my experience was far from satisfactory. I expected a much higher standard from a reputable hotel chain and was thoroughly disappointed with my stay.
