One of the best hotels in Manhattan This is one of a kind hotel. The guests are respectful and considerate. Check in was a breeze. I am here for 3 days. Shower works and there is a tub to take a bath. I got a king size bed and the first thing I did was lower the temp. of the room. It was 74 degrees and 3 hours latter 66 degrees. There is a couch and a desk in the room. Nice TV and small refrigerator. I love this place because I can walk to Grand Central and catch the train.

Avoid if you can This has been one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had starting with a not-so clean room, broken refrigerator that required them to come fix multiple times, they also disconnected the water for several hours with almost no notice which caused me issues due to a medical condition, the water disconnecting caused the bathroom to flood because the sink was not close all the way. The hotel's apology was to send a bottle of wine (I don't drink). Horrible experience overall and I recommend avoiding. I feel like I wasted the points I used to book the hotel on a bad experience.

Major Safety Issue at this hotel The best thing about this hotel is the location (assuming you are interested in being close to Grand Central Station). This is where it ends. While there were numerous issues at this hotel, there were three material items - one of which appalled me. 1. The door to my room did not lock. Read that again. The room door DID NOT lock. This alone is alarming 2. The evening staff were rude and unprofessional 3. The shower did not have hot water 2 out of 3 nights Since #1 is the most alarming, I will dig more into that incident. On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 10th between 9:40 pm - 10:25 pm, I found out my hotel room door did not lock. I told the front desk and they sent the engineer. He tried several times and he could not fix it either. He suggested I move rooms. I called down again and got the women (that evening there was one man and one woman at the front desk). She was unprofessional, rude, and claimed they had no rooms (of note, I asked my friend who is familiar with the property since he is a NYC real estate investor and he said "no way they were full. they should have moved you.") I pressed her on how unsafe it was and she said the best she could do was move me the next day. She never followed through and I was stuck in the room using the chair to block & hold the door securely (see picture). You could not pay me to stay at this hotel ever again. Having traveling to over 50 countries multiple times, this is the worst hotel experience I have had globally.

Be forewarned they charge your credit card an additional $41 once you check out The hotel is ok and the staff are nice. It is definitely nothing fancy but it fit our needs for a one night pre-cruise stay. Please be aware of a $41 fee they will charge your credit card after checking out. When we checked out, we were told we were "all set" and never informed about a fee. We contacted the hotel once we saw the fee on our credit card and were told it was a RESORT fee?! To add insult to injury, we were told the resort fee was for 2 waters in the room, which we never even had 2 waters in the room. We are IHG Platinum Elite Members and were supposed to receive a welcome gift and ironically 2 waters, which we did not, and did not mention at arrival because we didn't want to make a big deal about it. We used this stay as our Platinum elite yearly anniversary reward night and have NEVER had to pay such a ridiculous fee. When we reached out to Alfredo via email, he was less than sympathetic nor helpful. If you are an IHG member I would recommend that you pick another NYC hotel.

Excellent Location Excellent location with great staff. Rooms are well-sized by NYC standards with excellent A/C and good water pressure/good quality toiletries. The new LIRR-Madison station is a very short walk from the hotel. Great restaurants and Japanese markets are nearby.
