Best experience at this hotel. We stayed at the Doubletree in Chelsea over Thanksgiving 2024. The hotel staff from the front desk, to housekeeping and restaurant was so kind & friendly. Everyone was so gracious and helpful with directions and tips/tricks in the city. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in midtown.

Clean rooms but lacking good service… Check in - not especially welcoming which is a shame. A smile costs nothing. (“Hello I’m Jim. Welcome to the Hilton Doubletree Chelsea! I hope you have a great stay!” would have been nice!) Room was very clean and beds super comfy so a great shout out to the housekeeping team. The promised view of the Empire State Building didn’t materialise sadly as we were facing in the wrong direction! Plug in sink broken and wouldn’t drain. Managed to reach underneath the sink to get the plug to work! One of the coat hangers broken. Bartender very miserable. No smiles available. But they’re keen to ask for a tip! Overall an OK place to stay if you’re not overly concerned about customer service…

Do Not Stay at this hotel!! The experience at the doubletree hilton i. chelsea was the worst we’ve ever had in NYC or any US hotel. one elevator was broken for our entire stay of 5 nights for 27 floors. we had to build in an extra 45 minutes for every meeting and event attended in order to get there on time due to the broken elevator. The bathroom was absolutely tiny and there was mold on the walls in the bathroom. The rooms are old and outdated and smell funny as well. i will say that the staff there was very helpful and polite in spite of the mess of a hotel they have to deal with. I am shocked that this place is in such disrepair. we moved to a new hotel after 5 nights and it was so good to get out of this place! I’m shocked this is a Hilton brand hotel.

Letdown at Doubletree - Chelsea, NYC #1 - we are owed a $255 credit on our bill as promised by Romaine at the front desk # 2 only one elevator worked for a majority of our stay resulting in climbing up 19 stairs six different times (unacceptable for a high rise hotel in NYC #3 the room itself barely qualifies as a Hampton Inn- look at my history, you noticed over the last 10 years I have stayed at essentially every type of property in the country # 4 the upkeep has fallen way behind # 5 The TV was allegedly fixed, but during the entire stay never actually worked # 6 We ran into issues with getting hot water which made the state even worse. # 7 Heat in room barely worked. The staff was very nice, but the property itself was a tremendous let down especially given the amount of money and points we spent to make the reservation - room # 1909 (11/26-12/1)

DO NOT STAY HERE This death trap of a hotel should be closed down. The elevator was broken during our stay and come to find out it was broken last week, last month, and last year. So there is one elevator to service the entire 27 floors, including staff and guests. Ludicrous. We were late to every single thing we tried to do, including important meetings, due to a 20 minute wait to get in and out of the room. There are other issues: cleanliness, a pervasive smell of sewage in our room, noise, you name it, but this waste of space of a hotel should be ashamed of itself. We (and everyone else in the elevators) were angry our entire stay. Chaos. Do yourself a favor and stay literally ANYWHERE else.
