The person in reservations at the desk was fantastic! The location was fantastic too! We stayed in a room with a king-sized bed and initially it was a special weekend rate which was fantastic. The room was large and comfortable. The location was fantastic, located near the Met. Museum, the Neue Museum, great restaurants, and near 5th Ave and Madison Ave.

Terrible establishment, even worse customer service Rooms well below caliber, save your money and stay at a hostel. The customer service even worse. The receptionist actually refused to oblige my requests to speak to a manager and further went on to hang up the phone on me. Keep in mind your spending 400 a night not 40. Seek lodging elsewhere

Nice Hotel Stayed here overnight. Small but clean and surprisingly quiet rooms. Window view was of another exterior wall, not a complaint, just an observation. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was modern. Staff was friendly. Valet overnight parking was $60. Building is old but well cared for and fairly ornate. The window AC is adequate as rooms don’t have individual thermostats and a notice said NYC requires them to turn on the heat when the temp drops to certain low, so it can get a little warm. Next door is a Sarabeth’s restaurant which will deliver room service. We called and discovered the menu in the hotel room’s binder was outdated with some selections no longer available so we went to the restaurant to order. The food was very good but expensive. We didn’t get a chance to utilize the hotel’s fitness center or rooftop terrace. Its is possible to get a lower room price by searching travel sites. We would stay here again.

Adequate for Upper East Side If you’re needing to stay in the Upper East Side, the Hotel Wales is adequate, but definitely not lavish or fancy. The staff a friendly and professional. The rooms are on the small size but clean and exceptionally quiet. The bathroom is almost as big as the room itself which makes for a large bathroom. Oddly, the toilet paper requires orangutang arms to reach before you sit down. My advice, make sure to grab the roll before you sit down. There is a Sarabeth restaurant adjacent to the hotel, so you’re guaranteed to get an overpriced excellent breakfast nearby. If I did not have an early event nearby in the morning, I’d have stayed closer to midtown (high 50 something street) but for the purpose of my trip, this suited my needs.

Great Upper East Side Hotel This was a 2 night stay for work at Mt Sinai Hospital. This historic hotel was in a great location within walking distance to the hospital, shops, and restaurants. Although I didn't visit, it seems that museums, attractions, Central Park etc are also very nearby). The hotel staff was friendly and efficient; the rooms large (for NYC boutique hotel standards) and quiet (I had an interior room - not sure about the noise if you are on the street side. My Queen bed was very comfortable. Some of the other furniture was a bit worn, but everything was clean and with nice amenities. Compared to other hotels, it was a really good value for the cost. I will definitely return here when coming back to this part of the city.
