Pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. Clean and comfortable. I was concerned about this hotel after booking it and reading many negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is an amazing location right at Times Square and we were able to access all parts of the city easily. Check in and out were quick and easy. On check in, we were advised that there was water maintenance and that there would be no water for a few hours (we did have enough in the tap to wash our hands though). We appreciated the communication and we weren’t too concerned since we didn’t plan to spend much time in the room anyway. By the time we were winding down for bed around 11, the issue was resolved. The room itself was clean and was cleaned every day. The cleaning staff were helpful and kind. The A/C worked well and our room was cold at all times. There was some noise from the street but I thought it was relatively quiet given the location. If you don’t want any street noise, maybe don’t book a Times Square hotel. The bed did squeak a bit but it didn’t bother me or my husband- if you move around a lot it might. Otherwise I think the metal framed bed was a smart choice for the space because we could store our suitcases underneath. I thought the room was plenty big enough- we could move around and had room on either side of the bed. Again, it’s a relatively budget hotel in the busiest part of New York- small is to be expected when booking. We would honestly consider booking again and found the entire experience to be quite comfortable. I would say, set your expectations fairly - yes it’s relatively expensive, but that’s New York. If you care about location and want to spend less than some of the other hotels in the area, I’d say go for it.

0/10 Upon our arrival there was a note in our room stating water would be shut off from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm the following day. We were not advised of this scheduled maintenance prior to arrival. Neither were we advised the air conditioning would simultaneously be shut off as well. The water did not come back on until 11:00 that evening and the air conditioning was not back on until early evening the following day. When we attempted to call down to the front desk the first night without a/c is when we discovered the phone in our room was not working and when we called from our mobiles no one answered. During this time hotel management was no where to be found and no one would give us any answers on when the water or a/c would be back online. Minimum we should have received a credit for one night since we had no water or a/c but they did no such thing. There are no amenities either, no gym, no coffee - nothing.

AVOID !!! Please do not book this hotel. The pictures are so deceiving ! The rooms are tiny and dirty. We had no water for a full 12 Hours. They notified us that we would not have water from 10 am- 6:00 pm. The water did not come back until 11:15 pm. In addition the air-conditioning was off at the same time so we had to sleep in in unbearable heat. I am not kidding you but almost the entire hotel was in the main lobby at around 8:00 pm complaining about the water and the AC not working. The clerk just walked out and disappeared. They did not have anyone at the front desk to address tons of customers who were mad. The pictures are a joke.... The only good thing about this hotel is t he location and the front lobby area.

4 Nights At The OYO Times Square Maria and all the staff were friendly. The hotel is big and bright as one enters it. My single room was dark even in sunny broad daylight, so one had to keep the lights on, and it was cold, but maybe I should have moved the thermostat. A lady in the elevator said "My room is so warm", so maybe she should have done the same. My room was as cold as the Ed Sullivan Theater, which I was taken to during my trip. Other reviewers have mentioned the squeaky bed and sink with no plug. I had them in my room, but was not bothered at all. It was a nice, clean room, the bed was clean, the bathroom was clean. For a guy like me, it was a suitable place to stay. Thanks Maria and the friendly staff (forget their names, sorry) for making me feel welcome in New York.

Worst hotel stay of my life!!!! NO Ac! No TOILET to use!!!! Avoid this hotel at all costs! I paid $1100 for two nights in June. They decided to shut off the water to the hotel for over 12 hours. When they did this, this also shut off the AC to the hotel. No one could use the bathroom because the toilets wouldn’t flush because there was no water and we also had NO AC so it was very hot. They wouldn’t transfer us to another room nor refund my money for uninhabitable conditions in NYC. Elevators only fit 4 people and the rooms are ridiculously small and not clean. Avoid this hotel at all costs! There is literally a better hotel right next door. Go there. Run far away from this hotel or you will be out of your money and scammed like I was!
