A wonderful experience ay Pod 39 in New York City. Pod 39 in NYC is a fabulous hotel! I have stayed there many times, and every time it's been a great experience. This last visit, I requested to change rooms. The front desk management did not question me or try to change my mind. They immediately responded and even provided me with a better room. I love how they put me first. It's the way hotels should treat their guests. I will continue to stay at Pod 39 on my regular trips to NY and recommend them to my work colleagues and friends. Bravo and keep up the great work! The rooms are great, efficient and very quiet.

Great place for solo travelers! I booked Pod 39 for price and location, and based on the positive reviews. I can confirm the hype. As a solo female traveler the space was perfect. I booked the full room, and although space around the bed was limited, they maximize it very well with a storage bed frame with a drawer for clothes, and open space to hide your luggage. The built in nightstands also gave even more floor space to tuck things. The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows and comforter. The bathroom had a built in shelf to put out all products, and the fact that the mounted mirror extended to the shower meant I could multitask in the shower even easier. Water was hot, with a couple busy times when it was warm due to high usage. Everything was clean, and felt freshly done or brand new. Also, as a solo female traveler, I felt very safe walking in the neighborhood. Flew into LaGuardia and was able to easily travel on the LaGuardia link bus (free!), to the 7 train to get off just a few blocks from the hotel. Super convenient. You’re close enough to all the things in NYC, but far enough from the chaos and loud tourism, and in a safe space. I will definitely book again for future NYC stays, and recommend to other solo travelers.

What's not to like? Great vibe, good pricing, convenient location.... always clean and comfortable. Pod39 is one of our two go-tos in New York City. The other is the Pod51 ! I've stayed at the Pods for years now; they are my definite go-to because of their pricing, cleanliness, comfort, convenience to everything (including so many dining options, and also to subway and bus.

Pod 39 is Wonderful Pod39 is wonderful. Feny at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. The rooms are beautifully designed, and the roof is not to be missed. Daisy was so thoughtful about any requests that I had regarding my room. A real find in NYC and perfectly located to get around the city.

Just OK Knowing I would spend little time at the hotel itself, the price, & trying a new location somewhat close to Central Station, are the main reasons I chose Pod 39. The check in process was time consuming when the young desk clerk refused to accept numerous photos of the following on my iPhone since I do not carry these unless traveling abroad; drivers license, passport, work badge, etc, clearly identifying me, a 70 y/o nurse, the most trusted profession per polls. I finally found my Global Entry-TSA pre-check card after digging through my main luggage to satisfy his demand for a physical photo ID. In this day & age of technology & online check in at most hotels, update your process for efficiency. It also takes a while for the elevators, so be patient & make sure you allow time for waiting. The room was smaller than expected, but clean, although the lobby toilet in the basement needs attention. As a light sleeper, I requested a corner room away from the elevator noise on a high floor, & this was mostly honored, although still lots of street noise 24/7 because the windows are not sound proof like most hotels, & even open surprisingly. No restaurants in this hotel, but not a high priority as I never eat at hotels anyway. They did have coffee & sweets in the bar for breakfast, but I found the bagel place next door much better with better prices. It was almost comical when I needed a "glass" made of glass to mix my medication in, & the 3 bars in the hotel refused, On my last attempt in the bar facing the street next to the lobby, I succeeded. I initially explained my need to a young waitress, yet she returned with another plastic cup, the same as supplied in my room. The bar tender that apparently understood rocket science, rolled his eyes & handed me a glass. The charges on my credit card before arrival, at check in & check out were confusing, & although the hotel swears this is normal for all NYC hotels, I've never experienced this before on numerous trips to NYC, or anywhere else for that matter. Eventually the charges were corrected. Overall, the hotel was acceptable, but I will go back to my Citizen M hotel on future trips to NYC. I've traveled to over 120 countries & slept in hammocks in the jungle, tents in the desert, yurts, train births, & some pretty seedy guests houses, so not a picky person. However, when paying these prices in the USA, one expects better.
